@0000Jillsandwich0000 pepper spray. . doesn't really work. they hit him in the wrong spot, yeah their fault but drawing the baton was justified. guns should be a last resort, not batons. batons are impact pain devices as well as leverage tools and glass breakers. they are also pretty damned imposing and violently attacking the police. . .is justification to draw a baton.

@0000Jillsandwich0000 I agree as far as using other methods for calming people down, and CS gas would be my first port of call, but sadly there are alot of PC Brigade who would continue to say that using CS is wrong and inhumane.

So too be honest the Police have it hard whenever they do ANYTHING, its not fair on them, and i don't know what happened to this person, but what ever he did he obviously gave them no choice but to use thier batons.

Any avoidable death is a tragedy. I don`t know the details here so I won`t comment on this story. But 6 monthes ago I saw a story about 9 people who had died in custudy in Seattle last year. Again, just names w/o details. So I looked up the details in the news. 1 ran from a street brawl and when the cop caught him he had a heart attack. The cops gave him CPR until the paramedics arrived, but he didn`t make it.

The other 8 all were killed while attacking the police or other bystanders with lethal weapons. There are ALWAYS more than one side to these stories. And the dead are always harmless old ex-alterboys who were just minding thier own business on thier way out to give blankets and dinner to the homeless.
