Dang, the eighties was one CONFUSED decade. Talk about flat asses and Zero concept of asthetically pleasing physique, combined with anything-goes 'dance moves' (if they can even be called "dance moves").
@GeorgiaIsOnMyMind and someone like Daryl Hannah, who had the shoulders of a pro lineman and even had a MAN'S NAME, was considered beautiful. I don't get it.
OMG, I've been looking all over, for this one, for years! I see, now, that iTunes FINALLY has it, but they didn't have it, the first 100 or so times I checked, lol.
And to think, this incredible song only made it to #23 on AT40!!!! To me it was always a Top 5 (and a #1 in my heart.) This one and "Boom! There She Was" by Scritti Politti were perfect slices of late 80s Brit pop-soul that deserved much better chart success.
Great song....definitely brings back memories. Unfortunately, while searching the net to see what these guys are up to I found out Rob Fisher died in 1999 during surgery.
You have to love the ladies from 80s music videos, so beautiful and amazing. Not like the women in music videos today who dress like cheap skanks and look like they just got off a 5 day binge of doing meth. Long live the best decade, LONG LIVE THE 80s!
If people would stop embracing hip-hop culture and pop stars that look like whores, maybe great music like this would find its way back onto the radio.
I wasn't totally oblivious to this fact when it was happening, but the summer of 1988 and most of 1989 was a very, very good time for me. This video, along with "Another Lover" (Giant Steps), "Parents Just Don't Understand," "Tomorrow People," not to mantion most of Def Leppard's "Hysteria" album (the parts of it that had been released to that point anyway) and so on, those songs were a huge part of my personal soundtrack of that time period.
'Late 80's were some of my best years; this song was one of many great pieces that were written, unlike the RUBBISH that has been pumped out over the last 10 or 15 years. 'Wish I could go back to the better life I had, and the better music we experienced.
Mark my words, whoever invents the first time machine, be it in five years or five hundred, will do so specifically to travel back to the 1980s. And why? One of the reasons is to cruise along in a convertible with this song fresh and new on the radio.
Love this song! Bought the 45 when it came out. I always thought the artist was Rod Stewart!! People got lazy and stupid that's what happend to the world. :(

@suzannahnoelle You could also check out "Sugar Box" and "Big Area" by Then Jericho, "Dude Looks Like a Lady" by Aerosmith and anything by Guns 'N' Roses!
@CCFCMH maybe for the straight white people...but wasn`t there the threat of nuclear war in the middle east, a revolution in china and the philippines, widespread famine in africa, the fall of the berlin wall, and the AIDS epidemic...
@CCFCMH Control, Control, Control. I hope it gets LOADS worse. Then maybe we'll have another "revolutionary" movement. I've always wished I was around for Punk... It would be nice to have my own movement to be a part of, from my generation... Even though it'd be unlikely to change much.
You say Hannah Montana, I say The Rolling Stones
You say Owl City, I say Led Zeppelin
You say Jonas Brothers, I say The Beatles
You say Justin Bieber, I say Queen
You say Taylor Swift, I say AC/DC
95% of teens these days listen to the same crappy pop over and over again. If you're one of the 5% who still listens to real music, thumb this up, then copy & paste it to at least five videos. Don't let classics die.
es lamentable que hoy en dia no haya grupos como estos con verdadero talento, en estos tiempos cualquiera que tenga dinero lanza un disco y ya es considerado un artista.
