  • @Phreshlysqueeze The basic design of a jet engine is indeed quite simple, complexity comes when one tries to make it as efficient as possible. :-)

  • that's sexy!

  • @koopa888: You are quite true^^ Only the CFM56 in the A320 Family (CFM56-5A/CFM56-5B) isn't having the "D" shaped configuration unlike the common "D" shape among the 737s and the NG737s(CFM56-3/CFM56-7B). Somehow it is also an engine used for the A340-200 and 300 series (CFM56-5C)

  • very good and very hot

  • my company do repair on this cfm56 hpc blade..hihi..

  • nice..... pretty beastly

  • Nice. I used to make parts for those and the CF6. Lots of blades in those babys:)

Blisks for the compressor used to be inertia welded. Don't know if they still are though.

  • Its part american, part frensch

  • They are a combination of GE of the United States, and SNECMA of France. The CFM56 is a mix between GEs CF6 and SNECMAs M56 Engine
