  • Rhymesayers and in this video "Print". These artists are out there to do new things with the world of hiphop and change/re-define/move away from the "NORM".....AS well as grow as a person or artist and their past music is still part of who they are! Selling out for these artists would be leaving this label for monster label....So, when they try new stuff and you can't be open-minded; you just sold out yourself!

  • FRESH is the Word!

  • Not the best Blueprint song... but hey its alright

  • Do alive

  • Why skip school?

Shit brother cause you learn more,

When you ditch school to go to the library,

You can teach your self more with out the

Indocternation goon shoveling propaganda in to your face,

Like a Cullier shoveling coal in to a furnace, To smother the blaze.

    That's why

  • @MisterBrainwash it wasn't that you wrote a comment but what you wrote in the comment so it wasn't really that silly at all was it. You said "I only like artists who people don't know about because then i look cooler among my friends.I hate people." so from that i can safely assume you think you know enough about people's behavior to make a comment like that. if you're upset i called you out be upset but don't bother trying to make a big deal of it.

  • @MisterBrainwash I hate people who don't understand psychology and think they are experts on human behavior. Most people are resistant to change, assuming that people don't like his new work to "look cool" is lumping your observations of a few to the whole. The truth is if most people could have a perfect world the things they're familiar with would never disappear. Now granted this would eliminate progression as well but that's how a majority feels n they don't care about progress.

  • Chellichellx3 me to he is amazing and alive

  • I got to see you perform this song live for the first ever hearing it. and i literary felt it threw my veins

  • your the man!

  • I'm hearing Tricky - particularly the Maxinquay era.

    What goes round.... eh?

  • love, love, love, love

  • @MisterBrainwash it's hard enough for columbus artists to really break, and then it sucks when they get trashed for doing it... i agree hate those stupid people

  • I don't understand why people read YouTube comments. It's kinda like giving preschool kids the SATs, and then taking the results seriously.

  • @SportInjectionR and here you are commenting so i guess youre a preschooler just like us?

  • @SportInjectionR deserves 2 thumbs up

  • I'm not really a fan, but i appreciate this guy for trying and having love for his music. So all you people talking shit, fuck off or lemme hear you do better. Thank you, and goodbye.

  • hes DOPE haterz

  • Not as good as Eyedea and Abilities...

  • @EyedeaAndAbilities Too bad E passed right, wouldn't say either one is better tho BP has been fresh forever, long damn time. Besides they were label mates haha.

  • Wow someone actually makes Columbus look cool, miracle

  • Enough with all the bullshit about going Mainstream. Blueprint is just a creative artist trying new things. He makes his music for himself and no one else so stop complaining and just listen to the man.

"I made this in my basement, when you wasn’t even there

o express my feelings, not to be played on the air

So am I wrong or secure if I really don’t care

If this ever turns into something that anybody hears"

So stop with all the hating and just take it in and start feeling Alive again!

  • It's the mark of a true artist when they are able to experiment with different styles and mediums without destroying or corrupting their message. Blueprint, you sir, are amazing.

  • This is cool.

  • Liked this! Heard it on WPRKFM 91.5 Rollins College Basement Radio woo!

  • @MisterBrainwash

I love you. People need to get over themselves and listen to the music.

  • Yea! Blueprint! I'm from the ol' BUS and am happy to boast ya'll are from my hometown. Oh you guys should play a show in Athens Ohio too. Great scene and way to build a following

  • great vid, would really like to see a live version.

  • Illuminati?

  • fuck ya saw it live may 10thhhhh!

  • sondset hyped !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! printmatic

  • one of the best fucking songs ive ever heard

  • Perfect for how I feel right now :] Glad I found them

  • Musical growth prints being true to himself & the art of music respect bro!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MisterBrainwash AKA: The Hipster ;)

  • @MisterBrainwash u good. absolutely true

  • this song is good but better live

  • @MisterBrainwash totally agree with you man,i hate when people do shyt like that.as fans we should want our favorite rappers to become more known.it is only selfish to want to be the only one who knows how amazing an artist is.and selling out is used properly for some one who has abandoned his beliefs and intentions, not for someone who has chosen to expand his musicle creativity.

  • Excellent music and one of the greatest music videos I've seen to boot! Call it selling out if you want, the rest of us will call this kickass music.

  • Penis

  • @MisterBrainwash Well said bro.

  • great song, his talent knows no bounds

  • haha is he talking about bitches hoes and chains and cars and money and all that hoopla? NO! So he did not sell out.

  • I fucking love this song, I don't know that there's a song that I connect with more than this one at the moment. How many guys out there had a father gone, or who was abusive, etc, and just felt like the world was dead, until the one person capable showed up and brought them back to life?

  • I fucking love this song, I don't know that there's a song that I connect with more than this one at the moment. How many guys out there had a father gone, or who was abusive, etc, and just felt like the world was dead, until the one person capable showed up and brought them back to life?

  • he's defnitely just feeling the confidence to do what he wants to do & not stick himself with the same routine. He knows he will find resistance, but what's the point of doing the same thing over & over? Keeping the same formula would be selling out, cuz he knows that will sell records. It takes balls to do something fresh.

  • He didn't sell out.... He just tried something new and got noticed. It still isn't really mainstream. Have you seen it on MTV? No. Fucking hipsters...

  • good song, cool video

  • How can he transmit so much with only a faw words?. Damn Fucking great.

  • @jesterian i couldnt agree more! this is expanding and evolving & i dig it. see you at soundset 11 print!!

  • love it how these die hard hip hop heads think joining the rhymesayers team is selling out, guess they did something right up there in Minnesota, haha, this jam is so fucking sick.

  • Nice try Blue, but stick with rapping and making beats please.

  • True universal musician shit tight as hell they`ll play it in every country this is how skill is shown nice. Also shows his production mastering Blue Prints multi talented!

  • @guzikov They play at small venues, meet with their fans, and sell their own merch because this is UNDERGROUND RAP. Next time get your facts straight before you make yourself look stupid.

  • @PostcardFromNoWhere hahah umm i dont think you understood what context his comment was in. He was just proving how ridiculous peoples claims are that he sold out by saying he plays at small venues and talks to fans and stuff because he is in underground rap. he was never saying that he wasn't.

and to anyone who watched this and left a comment claiming that he sold out, please listen to the rest of the album or at least watch his radio-inactive video. cheers.

  • All you fucktards hating on this song because of the new sound were the ones that hated on Eyedea when he switched up his style. You think they sold out? No, you bitches sold out on them.

  • @Jesterian Damn fucking SPOT on..

  • @Jesterian they don't understand the difference between "seeling out" and "growing on the artistic side" ..so pathetic. Blueprint rocks

  • yeah sold out....still playing small venues....still talking to fans and selling his own merch....some of you hip hoppers need to get yo head out yo asses.

  • dont want people to htink I don't like blueprint. I'm from columbus and love blueprint and illogics music. I bought their stuff at magnolia thunderpussy, anyone in columbus knows what I'm talking about. I like their music, just not this song that much, though it is actually growing on me.

  • Great video. Where does this actually take place?

  • Amazing Fucking song!!

  • i dont see what im doing wrong.... i just cant make my paper airplanes go that far

  • Ok seriously people are fucked up anymore. Blueprint is my next favorite artist since Eyedea died. Im glad I found him. No one is making you listen to this right so why talk shit on him? I dont like lil wayne, t pain, eminem, and whatever but I dont go on their songs and talk shit, even though they might imo be horrible artists. Grow up and respect music, dont cry like a bitch and diss when someone does something innovate, its music learn to love it.

  • he's not selling out, he's actually doing the opposite. rapping how he feels. "so alive" he was working a 10 hour a day job before he started rapping so he's expressing his transformation in this song

  • Love this song. Blueprint should do a remix with Mayer Hawthorne

  • don't know how anyone can not like this song. there is just so much groove to the beat...

  • @CircularTheory no joke, the instrumental would be a great a song in itself imo, and Blueprint just makes it that much better

  • sooo different but i love it! the instrumentals are awesome in this print! keep doing your thing big ups, see you at soundset 11 !

  • I couldn't keep my head still during that paper airplane part

  • For all those talkin bout how blueprint sold out and whatnot, just listen to radio-inactive. That ought to shut you up.

  • @phant0mfighter truth

  • I laugh at all the queers that feel the need to bash someone that's stating their opinion. You are worst than these so called "musically ignorant" people you like to bully because they don't share your so called "factual" opinions

  • he might have been singing more than he has been rapping, but, clearly, rapping is what he's best at. And, I encourage him and everyone to make the art that they want to make because that is the best kind of art.

I don't think I should be rightly blamed for someone wanting to go the more conservative route because if you choose to let other people's opinions affect how you feel or deal with your art, then you really arent a true artist.

    Oh, yeah, this song SUCKS!

  • Cool video, song sucks major ass

  • This is terrible.

  • @MisterPeetBull you are a dumbass that knows nothing about real music

  • @titan1298 I guess you didn't listen to it.

  • Uh oh... He's using real instruments & singing... definitely selling out

  • uh i hope all his songs are not like this. i just dont like this style hopefully its just a phase haha

  • @milo432, Actually is not, I checked the previews on Amazon and is straight Hip Hop as you wanted to be expected on Blueprint's new album. Is just that the singles is a showcase of his variation on his music style, so you'll not be disappointed about it.

  • THIS IS REVIVING!

  • This guy is not selling out people, he's singing. Singing about some relevant too. He's still getting his emotions, and feelings out through this song, and his other type of music. He's trying something new, but trust me this guy is dope. If you don't think he's real hip hop, or think he's selling out go to one of his concerts. He's probably one of the best artists out there, and just because he singing in one song doesn't make him any less of one of the best artists, or lyricists today.

  • its more than just selling out tho and people dont seem to get that. it's not so much that he's getting big, its tha fact that hes becoming hypocritical. I mean listen to radio inactive and songs along those lines. I don't think its right to say one thing, then do another. Plus, i also feel those mainstream trashbags dont deserve music this good. If yu want good music, yu should have to look for it, not turn on tha radio or tha tv and have to listen to it 1000x

  • Not my type of shit, I understand why RSE releases this stuff, but really... nah... nothing for me, I'd prefer some real hiphop!

  • A true poet

  • Comment removed

  • I wonder if any of the people dissing this song have actually listened to it.

This is poetry, and if you cannot decipher the simple but powerful meaning of this song, you really shouldn't be wasting your time on youtube in the first place.

  • This is bad..

  • Another great artist from Columbus OH

  • This song is frealking great. Keep them coming.

  • No lie, but i heard this shit on mtv few days ago,it was on for a couple seconds. i was fucking surprised!

  • This song is what it is. It's up some peoples' alleys but not others'. Let it be please. Blueprint worked hard on this song. Rhymesayers worked hard on this song. This is their life. Respect the fuckin' work. Respect the talent. No need to get nasty. Let it be what it is.

  • @respectdabuddah11 Word, people forget about the music with all the bullshit drama.

  • dude not trying to be a dick but i want eyedea back. i dont know how the fuck rhymesayers signed blueprint in hopes of filling the huge void eyedea left. i mean if one of you can give me a good song by blueprint that would be great but i can never forget eyedea.

  • @SCAenterprises they didnt sign him in hopes of filling the void? Hes been signed

and he and eyedea are both great. Check out Blue Prints old stuff like Printamatic, or him in the orphanage. One of my favorites was Blueprint Vs Funkadelic, great sampling and good lyrics

    R.I.P Eyedea

  • @SCAenterprises Blueprint has been signed to Rhymesayers for years asshole.

  • @SCAenterprises You do know Blueprint has been with Rhymesayers for more than just a few years now?

  • @chonomakona yeah i didnt mean that they signed him when eyedea died cuz ive heard some songs with eyedea and blueprint way back in the 90s. i dont even know why i said that lol

  • @Smileyfacedkiller - you ignorant douche you

  • "the undergrounds polluted!"

    Remember guys??

  • I have to say it. There's clear symbolism of illuminati in this video, when his eye unfolds, it creates the freemason triangle for a good visual. Also, his hand making a 6 with 3fingers following it makes the 3x6 symbol. One last sign, he's all dressed in black, leaving his white outline. What happened blue? I loved your old shit!

  • to all sell out shouters, shut up. we should be glad to live in a time when artists are comfortable to release thier more creative stuff instead of the same ole hum drum drab. Blueprint makes music, there isn't any product endorsements, and if i buy a g-shock watch cause eminem has one, it;s not casio's fault or eminems. and seriously be more creative w/comments- B-print your new song is sick, love the james brown soul/jazz feel. the weird rhymes, and measures. coulda shown more of it, peace

  • Not gonna lie, Budo's remix makes this song 10x better.

  • he didnt sell out, this is good music yo!

  • here is the answer - people feel more connected to underground music in general b/c they have to "work" to find it. it's not on the radio so there is a deeper sense of connection with the artist, so when someone decides to change their style or explore options it scares the fan. they've invested alot of emotional energy and people don't like change. i'm more excited for the album BECAUSE it's different

  • @hootie017 yeah word up!

  • @hootie017

You made your point and I kinda agree with you. The only thing I want to add is that the album won't be DIFFERENT but will be the mixture, the product of symbiosis of different music styles.

Print showed us a very emotional yet puristic "Radio-Inactive", a corny but catchy "Keep Bouncing" and finally the very different and, so to say, unexpected but still very very good "So Alive".

    The track is IMMENSE.

  • Print is the man yall should reckognize...u wish ure beats had half this much dopeness. u cant eff with his patterrens fools!

  • lol @ all the people saying he sold out... when was the last time you heard something released like this by anybody? this is probably the most original song ive heard in years to be completely honest.

  • Death to autotune! He has such a great voice, glad somebody is putting it out there unmolested, unfiltered. You haters are just selfish, you fell in love with a work of art and just want the artist to repaint the same piece over and over again. Maybe its cuz you liked it when nobody knew him, your best kept secret, but when he expresses his self in a way that is accessible to more people you turn on him. Maybe you should let your appreciation for music to grow instead of criticizing the artist.

  • All of y'all complaining about his singing need to read his latest blog post, where he addresses this issue. But of course, you won't read it because you'll find it to be too long, and you're always right about everything.

  • Saw Blueprint in Tempe on March 11th.... That is one soulful dude. Great show

  • its ok i guess

  • why is he singing?

  • how is this dope..its just weird

  • @stokelycalm Shut the fuck up, dude, how is it weird?

Appreciate good music and get the fuck out of that little enclosed box that you're living in. People like you make me sick.

  • The like bars a pool stick

  • caught him in SD last night, one of the realest cats out there today

  • @smiley! totes mc goats!

  • woah.

  • "...self produced frantic, 60's inspired slice of soulful electro pop" is what it says in the description about this, he never said it was hip-hop. I think it sounds megadope personally, shows how versatile of an artist he is.

  • Excellent track. I'm so so alive right now!

  • Rhymesayers stepping it up! If you followedhis forum you'd know he quit drinking for 9 months so this song makes a lot of sense for him to do. Just saying...

  • Rhymesayers stepping it up!

  • I like this shit despite the lack of an actual verse. A good change up from the norm.

  • sometimes the beat and the melody made the song, this time its the whole rapping

  • Sounds and looks like a Mitsubishi commercial. 1988 was so dope too, bummer.

  • this is garbage. It's sad that Blueprint turned to this when he was such a good rapper. And it's such a shame that this is what is eventually going to take him to stardom. He sold out.

  • @Smileyfacedkiller Fuck you fucking hipster ass he sold out bitches. Fuck you, if you had the chance to be famous you would too. Stop being a bitch because your not the only one who knows about him anymore.

  • @revolution55125

what the hell kind of english are you trying to speak? You sound pretty offended that I offered my opinion on this video lol what in the hell is wrong with you? Are you sitting there in army gear ready to go to war for blueprints music or what lol

  • @revolution55125 Blueprint NEVER SOLD OUT! My friends and I went to go see him in Albuquerque NM, and he is one of the realest artist around! Fuck all you haters. Blueprint is the real deal! We told exactly how much his music along with RSE changed our lives. He is just like he says in Rdaio-inactive. Honest. Fuck you!

  • @revolution55125 That's real talk. We live in a monetary system so there is no such thing as selling out.

  • @Smileyfacedkiller

It's not selling out, it's called trying something new. Learn the difference. Stoupe from Jedi Mind Tricks did the exact same thing. Selling out is NOT just abandoning your old style of music, because real musicians will naturally evolve over time. That's the truth, just take a look at Slug.

  • @1414shellshock, You sir have made my day, what you just said is so 100% real talk. It sickens me that a lot of Hip Hop fans are obsess with nostalgia without giving the chance to go beyond the status quo. That's why society needs to evolve, if we become obsess with the past, life would be miserable. Anyway, am glad that finally somebody has the balls to say something real like that, not many Hip Hop fans nowadays have the intelligence to understand evolution on music.

  • @1414shellshock

You hit the nail right on the head.

  • @Smileyfacedkiller

If this is the kind of vitriol you vomit when a musician that you like takes an artistic turn that you don't, then you have only yourself to blame for all of the top-40 homogeneous auto-tune garbage that saturates your ears.

I'd rather have him make the music that he wants; over the music that he thinks I want to hear, no question. Maybe if you'd ever actually attended a show you could talk to him, and he'd tell you how he's been singing longer than he's been rapping.

  • @bennyprandomnumber

You are a pussy. Hopefully blueprint has more of a backbone than you. So, basically, if u dislike something that someone does, you are to blame for someone doing something else? No, blame the person that doesn't have the guts to stand up for what they believe in. Obviously, that's not you, based on your ideology.

Also, how in the hell would you know if I've attended a show or not? I actually live in Columbus, where blueprint and illogic are from.

  • @Smileyfacedkiller He didn't sell out. He's not doing anything that goes against his principles to make money. He's evolving and changing as an artist, just like every other artist. I'm sorry that he's not making the same song over and over to please you, but we're happy he's making new stuff.

  • Aprils going to be such a good month for music.

  • StayTrueBlue.

  • Maria Juranic is the next Spike Gondry, or Michel Jonze, something like that...

  • hiphop ????

  • I have a very strong admiration and loyalty to rhymesayers, especially atmosphere, and now with grieves they have two heavy weights, murs is also great. blueprint has always been hit or miss. So far for this album radio-inactive is awesome, keep bouncing was cool, but just because an artist is trying new things, that does not make the song quality. "so alive" is very monotone and is not a reflection of what a kickass hip-hop artist blueprint is. sounds like a lean towards soul position.

  • @Bayneism Murs isn't on Rhymesayers, but Felt is... So I guess he kinda is. But I agree with you about Grieves being dope!

  • @Bayneism I saw him last night at Terminal 5 and spoke with him for a long time and he refused to be called a rapper. He just wanted to be called a musician. I guess he wants to explore different genres and not be limited.

  • @chonomakona aaaahhh phuk. I was there too and wanted to meet him. Where was he, was it after the show?

  • @lowenl28 after his set he was at the merch table on the bottom floor. I had to go to the bathroom during Atmosphere's set and there was definitely no way I was getting back to my friends in that crowd afterwards so I hung out and talked to him mostly. He was really nice and chill and very modest.

  • it's great to someone in real hip hop do something outside of his comfort zone.

    track is dope!

  • Ahhhh, Blueprint maturing... I love all the songs off this album so far!! :D

  • I like your other songs but this one was kinda dumb

  • I love

  • How can people say they miss his rapping when not even a month before this he dropped "Keep Bouncing"... Which is a dope track. This is a great song. Quit hating on an artist for expanding boundaries, especially when they create a great track.

  • Wow there so many stupid people saying Blueprint is a sell out that this is just utterly ignorant and depressing, I hope you guys try to learn Hip Hop beyond what you see in Rhymesayers because out of 30 million people in this country you know theres ALOT of experimental and hardcore old-school style MC's and DJ's who are still making incredible music. Seriously you cannot deny the truth that is been spoking out of my mouth instead of the ones that are coming out of your ass.

  • not 2 bad of a song, never heards bluprint tho, been outta the UG scene for a while now,... ARE YOU READY!!!!

  • Damn, just me or does he look alot like Chapelle?

  • DSLR's kickin ass!

  • great track....great video it is different but not wack

  • MAN this is nice, but this one guy was dissin the grouch in a comment, so lame

  • sick video. must have been a bitch to edit.. haha song's ok.

  • Check out Budo's remix as well. It's sick.

  • i can dig it, i mean anyone who understands music and the artists who create it know that as time goes on that our mentality, perspective and even our sense of reality changes, just because its different from something else they did at another point in time doesnt define them forever. Example. Eyedea and Abilities, they had a 6 year stretch from E&A and By The Throat, and there was a huge difference in every single aspect of the music created. its called transcending yourself.

  • Comment removed

  • you know what. everyone has an opinion, and i'm just another asshole. i'm just disappointed in the state of hip hop. if you like it, then enjoy it. i'm in the wrong. but hip hop WILL die if stuff like this is equated to it. sorry everyone, sorry print. be good.
