I think that the best thing about this series aside from the morbid writing (the classic mario sprites make it that way) is the fact that all of the battle scenes are within the confines of the rules set place in the game itself, mario's attacks pretty much consist of only jumping unlike so many other sprite movies that try to rip off the matrix or dragonball Z
