Please understand my answer is purely from a theological view, not a civic or legal view. Per the Church those politicians who support abortion, support a crime, which to support a crime is a sin. So if we support a politician who supports abortion, which to the Church is a crime/sin, then we are enablers. I attended a Catholic school for 12 years and anybody who has attended a Catholic school at all would be able to tell you that the Catholic church has ALWAYS been of the position that abortion is wrong. According to the Catholic Church, those Catholics who support abortion, especially public officials, should refrain from receiving the sacrament of Holy Communion. Which means Senator Biden, and Rep Pelosi, both Catholics, should in all consciousness not receive Holy Communion if and when they go to church. But knowing the hypocrisy of these two, I bet they are the first to rush forward to receive Holy Communion.
