No it's not. You all call it a slackline because you were told it was a slackline, and never had the sense to question the fact it was being pulled tight. A couple of Yosemite climbers pulled a piece of dynamic tape tight,and for reasons known only to them they called it a slackline. The rest just followed like sheep

Its called a slack line due to the dynamic characteristics of the line, where as tight rope walking uses static line.
