  • why do you only get 3 hrs i get bout 5 1/2 hours per charge

  • did you said plextor

  • did you said plextor

  • i dont see how this is any faster for boot up... but applications are def faster!

  • hehe there is no BIOS on a mac :) its called EFI

  • fuck your setup bitch

  • the S128 is slow. Buy the P128 or the X128. This is speed!!

  • Wow! The only downside though would be the amount of space SSD's offer now. I have the 15" macbook pro with 320 GB...According to Tiger Direct a 256SSD is $1000!!

I'll switch when it gets cheaper XD.

  • 31 sec. for booting up...

    mine only needs 28 sec.

the intresting thing is that it's the CTO

    500GB @7200 rpm Apple Harddrive :)

the upgrade to the higher rpm one was only about 45 € at the Apple Store

  • samsung 128gb mlc ssd or intel 80 gb ssd ???

  • @gokhanca Ive heard that Intel is best.

  • @chakiller36 or runcore, they're pretty good and they come with an upgrade kit

  • Kool man I got my mac book pro 17" 2.8Gz, 4GB Ram, 128SSD and it is great.

  • Let me ask you, is it dead-silent???

  • Dod you get your desktop and that's thing on your desk under your keyboard(forgot the name) from IKEA?.. (if so, I got exactly the same) :D

  • i wonder if this can be done on the non-unibody macbook pros. i have a early 2008 edition macbook pro 15 inch and am wondering if its worth the investment to switch to an ssd

  • Depending on the kind of SSD it will be faster. Also as for now the more expensive the better. He got a mid range drive that gets above average speeds. still a big difference.

  • yeah you can

  • boom!

  • did you use a 2.5" ssd?

  • he had to 1.8 think does not fit

  • is this the new macbooks

  • no, just look at the date this was posted

  • thew new (mid 2009) and the old (early 2009) are exactly the same thing in structure, just HardDrive upgrade and Processor, but its the same thing.

  • Dude, that was weak!

Seeing the new macbook pros boot up mac os X with a SSD in 31 seconds makes me wonder...

My macbook pro boots up a clean install of Leopard in 29 seconds!!!!!

    (2,6ghz c2d, 200gb 7200 rpm - 10ms HDD [orig installed by apple] 4gb ram and of course 512mb geforce 8600mgt - on which I play GTA 4 on 1200*800 fluently)

    HOW IS YOUR BATTERY LIFETIME???

My great HDD kills my macbook pro after 3,5 - max. 4 hours!

  • Nice setup!

I have a little question...I plan to buy a 13" MacBookPro and I also want to use 2 external screens. I only wonder if the graphics card is strong enough. Does everythink run still well when you switch to the weaker graphics card (I think it is the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M) in your MBP?

    Thank you very much :)

  • Yes... I use my black macbook in an extended display mode without any issue the new 13" macbook pro should be just fine in extended desktop mode.

  • okay thank you very much for your quick reply!

  • how much ram does your mac have ?

  • asss

  • Boom! lol... Great video man!

  • I hope Macs in the near future are gonna be real hardcore gaming stuff.

  • They won't.

  • I doubt for now, but I love Gaming on my Mac

  • They are...!!!

I am playing GTA IV on my 1 1/2 year old Macbook pro with a resolution of 1200*800 and this FLUENTLY (speaking of 26 fps). On windows 7 RC.

P.s. I'm not an idiot that spends all his money on Apple products - Well I'm an idiot that got his Macbook pro (which was worth 2800 dollars) for 1600 dollars in HONG KONG - heaven on earth: that's as far as I know the place where you get the CHEAPEST BRAND NEW Apple products on earth!! (p.s. Yes, it was an authorized apple store!!)

  • Why are SSD always in low numbers...i would really want one but 128gb is not enough..i would need at least 200gb or more

  • Awesome Congrats on the new SSD

  • Do you think that future Macbooks and iMacs will be built with the SSD?

  • Of course when the technology becomes cheaper they will become standard.... You can already purchase one with a SSD as an option...

  • I have owned pc laptop computers for ever, I know everything there is to know about pc computers. im thinking of switching to mac, What do you think? or anyone think

  • I would say go for it man! I to use to be a long time windows user and lover until I made the switch over 1 year ago. The machines are truly unbelievable... They are very intuitive and it just works flawlessly because the OS was made for the hardware...

  • omg my macBook g3 took me like a 5 hours to get the hard drive out

  • do we need to restore our stuff from time machine or could do we do something else??? what do i do to restore and put my info into the drive??

  • It is quite simple... You install the SSD then plug in your time machine drive, it will then ask you if you would like to restore from time machine and you click yes. Your Computer is back to the way you last left it.

  • Damn that is fast, is there a 100gig for cheaper? thanks!

  • There are a few OCZ drives on newegg for about $150. They are just a smidgin slower though. Read - 150MBS Write 90MBPS

  • Love the SSD but I hate the price!

  • It is new technology, so you pay a premium for it.

  • i might get the SSD you have thanks!!! but could you give me the instructions to restore from Time Machine?? thanks

  • When reinstalling Leopard you are given the option to restore everything from a time machine drive.

  • What other options are given?? Please help. I will buy this within 3 days so... please help.

  • When you insert the Leopard install disk and boot off of it you will be presented with a semi-Mac OS X desktop. In the menu bar, select Utilities and then "Restore System from Backup..." Select your backup drive, the date you want to backup from, and then click restore. this is from TUAW website. if you need more explanation you can also google it.

  • could I get your 250 gig hardrive??? I really need it. my 160 gig sucks please domreis?

  • Sorry... No, I am using it for backup and I need it if i ever need to send my macbook in for service.

  • cool!! i love your videos! you need to keep making them!
