The only thing different from a regular Les Paul Jr. on the Billie Joe Signature is that the pickup(an H90) is hum-canceling unlike the P90 on the regular Les Paul Jr.

@AlanSturgess About 6 pounds-a little bit heavier than Melody Maker but lightweight compared to the average 8 to 9 pound plus LP Standard.

@AlanSturgess No, the guitar actually is really light. Buy it! I tried one at a music store today, and I swear. this guitar will haunt me till I buy it... Wish it was cheaper, though.

I hope you realize you spent more money on that billy joe Jr then a normal one and there is litterally NO difference in hardware or anything between a signature and a normal one. just the name of a mediocre guitar player on it..

it depends on what kind of music you play. if you play a lot of simple power chord stuff, then go w/ the jr but if you want a light guitar that's also powerful and good for solos then go w/ the sg. bottom line, it all depends on your ability the guitar doesn't matter very much. most guys just go w/ the guitar that their favorite artist plays

my favourite artist is billie joe armstrong XD, i've been playing the guitar for 6 years and i think the LP junior is very simple and the prize is more or less as the SG and i think the SG is better guitar ...

overall the sg is a better guitar. the standard is SO comfortable to play and there's complete access to the upper frets. also it feels great because of the light weight and it's got a killer sound. i.e. Angus Young of AC/DC, and Eric Clapton

Alright im not say your a terrible player. Your pretty good, but you would be great if you had some rhythm. (and it wouldn't hurt to buy a better amp lol. no offense but your amp makes your awesome guitar sound like shit.)

I love the Billie Joe Lp Junior but for my opinion its exepensive. Its sounds almoust the same as the Lp Junior 58', but then you dont have that pretty looks :D.
