If you want the Porsche feel without blowing 50k, here is what you do: Buy a basic carrera 2s, strip its interior and install coilovers and sticky tires. There ya go. You have the best Porshce.

carerras and cayman/boxters sound pretty close so its hard to tell. i know this is no turbo S 911 though. turbo 911's are fast. carerras and carerra S's are nice cars but they are turds. caymans are faster than a carerra S. i daily drive an sti with bolt ons. my boss has a 997 C2S and its a turd compared to my car. everything about regular porsche carerras are heavy and bloated. id never buy or own one and i think caymans look better and are faster anyway. now a turbo 911 is a different story...

@RobNttBob In my opinion, ford only seems to be doing a good job (American only standpoint) with their big-block v-8. Their 5.0 v-8 is comprable if not better to the larger 5.7 in Dodge and 6.2 in Chevy's. I hate to say it too, because i love the new Challengers and Camaros.
@SuperCoop411 If Dodge and Chevy would stop being lazy they cold get so much more HP/torque out of those engines. Ford know that they're lazy and their taking advantage of it, as of now, if I had to buy some American Muscle then I'm going with Ford, hopefully the ZL1 Camaro will be as great as it's hyped up to be and will weigh 2-400lbs less.

@dantehallJr92 depends on the year 911. I have an LS2 GTO which is just a bit faster than your 370 and I raced a base 996 911 and smoked him. However if it had been a 997 Carrera S it would have been much closer.

I have the r-spec which comes with 6 speed close ratio tranny... wouldn't trade it for the world. Well... mayebe a Viper SRT10 or Lambo.

@yZOZerious I don't own a Genesis, I'd never buy one, ever. Yes, I did say the Genesis was a beast for a V6 because it is. It moves quick for a V6 but it's not the best by a long shot. It's like I said, it beats most V6's in it's class, look up a few videos. I'm speaking in terms of speed which I didn't make clear initially. Also, let me make this clear, if you offered me a Porsche and a Hyundai and I could only have one...give me the Porsche. I just don't think the Genesis is total crap.

Chevy really needs to step up and get more power out of that 6.2/.1L and drop some weight on the newer Camaro's. They should use better interior materials and add a modern entertainment system.

@RobNttBob In my opinion, ford only seems to be doing a good job (American only standpoint) with their big-block v-8. Their 5.0 v-8 is comprable if not better to the larger 5.7 in Dodge and 6.2 in Chevy's. I hate to say it too, because i love the new Challengers and Camaros.

Ford know that they're lazy and their taking advantage of it, as of now, if I had to buy some American Muscle then I'm going with Ford, hopefully the ZL1 Camaro will be as great as it's hyped up to be and will weigh 2-400lbs less.

@RobNttBob 100% agreed. Also, I feel ford has more money now too, they didnt need a bailout while GM and Chrysler did. I also feel that the mustang counterpart to the ZL1 will still be better. Back in the 60's and 70's, ford got walked on in recessions. The tables have kind of turned, and I feel ford will stay better for the next few years. When the economy gets better, its anyones game. But yes, the 6.2 and 5.7 have WAY more potential then what they are putting out.
