  • Correct me if I'm wrong (utter layman here), but is he reeling those long sequences of syllables off by heart and then playing exactly what he's just said? Because if so this is more incredible than I first thought...

  • @paeperpeeple Yes, all of the compositions Panditji has presented in this incredible video are from memory. He has learned them by the oral tradition from Great Masters and memorized them by heart for all their intricacies and details so as to present them exactly how they are supposed to be played.

  • Can't even hear what composition the harmonium is playing...and I don't really mind!

  • ohh my lord, anindo

  • What a fantastic display of Farukhabad!!! What a joy to see and hear! Thanks.

  • There's also another clip of him wearing an orange khurta where he plays a kaida by Ustad Habibuddin Khansahib that starts with gegetete gegetete genedhene naragene

  • the first kaida he says was composed by Ustad Habibuddin Khansaheb. He touches his ear and then states the Ustads name.

  • They Delhi Baj Kaida that Pandit Ji was playing, who was it composed by? I couldn't hear.

  • never fails to amaze. mashaallah.

  • He is amazing..

  • Astonishing! Such power (look at the Dhire Dhire), clarity (Tirekete) and beautiful rendition (bayan control) of the gats, kaidas, relas, etc. His level play separates him in a very elite category of tabla maestros.
