@paeperpeeple Yes, all of the compositions Panditji has presented in this incredible video are from memory. He has learned them by the oral tradition from Great Masters and memorized them by heart for all their intricacies and details so as to present them exactly how they are supposed to be played.
There's also another clip of him wearing an orange khurta where he plays a kaida by Ustad Habibuddin Khansahib that starts with gegetete gegetete genedhene naragene
Astonishing! Such power (look at the Dhire Dhire), clarity (Tirekete) and beautiful rendition (bayan control) of the gats, kaidas, relas, etc. His level play separates him in a very elite category of tabla maestros.

the first kaida he says was composed by Ustad Habibuddin Khansaheb. He touches his ear and then states the Ustads name.
