If democrats wanted America to become energy independent they would be supporting all options for alternative fuels and energy.

Instead they are derailing almost all of the viable methods to produce new domestic energy.

Conservation is only one small piece of it.

It can't be the main vital strategy. And non vital mandates sound like too much government for my taste.

Strange since these companies specified that a mandate i.e legal requirement is what is required. This is because without a legal reason for action inaction can be more profitable...externalising costs to society can be cost effective.
