im trying to find the how to video we watched in class, it looks like its from the 80s but it isnt because i know one of the kids in the video lol, but i found this & the 1st peice of music is what i skated to, so im watching your video :) lol
preglue flat strips on the square cut strips to form a long sandwich. then cut in same manner you did for vid.the end result will give you AMAZING looking I-beams also if you boil wood strips they will become very very flexible. bend in to position and allow to dry. this will open all kinds of possibilities and make your structures much more solid at the same time. hope this was helpful. remember...you dont have to build it bigger or better. just build it and let fun take its course. NRB
basswood is harder to work with an exact o knife and balsa is much easier to blend in to many different scenes because of its more neutral pigment and wood grain. tree,patio,i-beam,light pole. all come out much better with balsa.G-scale and bigger dont look to bad with basswood but still, balsa easier on the hands and the knife blades.
lol i want to a uni open day and we made a balsa wood bridge in 45 mins that held 10 kilos (22 pounds. It was NOWHERE near as complex as this but it did the job. It's prettier though :)
I built a structure that was 8.5 inches tall that held 980 pounds and weighed 13.1 grams. Not a bridges but the same concept. It was made out of Balsa wood.
i like star wars =O well the games like the force unleashed the movies are ehh. But w/e idk how he did that wiimote thing it depends in how he did it that can label him as a nerd lol. But w/e. I gotta work on a bio engineering project now peace
wow that bridge held only 23.. were doing bridges in our class and there simple wood bridges and they weight less than 25 grams and a guy got his to go to 165 pounds of sand lol try beating that =P
hey.... dat bridge was great.... i wud luv 2 try 2 make it myself, but i dont have da program 2 make an outline.... so can u send me da programme within 24 hours of this message plz.. i wud appreciate it.. thanx.
Um all you gotta do is buy some balsa wood, Gorilla Glue, wax paper, and an X-acto Knife. You then need a program like Bridge Maker or AutoCAD to make an outline of the bridge you're gonna make.
Print it out and put your wax paper over it and cut your wood with the knife according to the outline while glueing the pieces together.
It helps if you uses pins to hold the paper in place while working. Hope that helps.
whaw that last comment was half way through the vid but now that its over i now know u acctualy got me to stare at my screen for 14 mins and 36 seconds...well that was a waste of some spare time but o well
The first song is Clubbed to Death by Rob Dougan, the 2nd is Bittersweet Symphony by the Verve Pipe and the 3rd is Fever Dream from the 300 soundtrack.
