Those good old days when u were a kid, being woken up by this song while driving through the mountains of the lake district at sun rise. those were the days :)
@lilfunker86 why don't you elaborate on why the 80's were a mistake all knowing one. The 80's for those who were there were eclectic, exciting times with far less fear and worry of the adolescents of today, Oh and they also had a fantastic amount of great bands to listen to. People who actually played instruments along with the song that was being sung.
@lilfunker86 Are you insane????? according to Wiki Hot Chip were formed in 2000 (I had to search for them as i had never heard of them!!!) OMD were formed in 1978, Now who's copying who. Get a musical education!!! And a great deal more people on here would have heard of OMD than Hot Chip, I think they maybe haven't had long enough to get noticed maybe, 11 Years!!!!!! or maybe they are just Garbage
@DariusBlue yeah! pretty sure its E&D...think this guy was the popular choice back in those days, for quite a few bands...there all fairly similar...good non the less. cheers!
Joan of Arc may have claimed inspiration from god but she killed so many of her own soldiers in badly thought out strategies of warfare..it was a blessing she was handed over by the French authorities otherwise she would have decimated the whole of the French nation..why anyone wants to sing songs about her and her being made a saint I cannot begin to comprehend.. I mean nobody would do it for Marechal Petain when he set up the vichy government during WW2
I used to buy OMD records back in the day but for some reason, I didn't buy this one. Perhaps I left it too late and there was none left. I would have liked to have seen what the cover looked like, but this seems to have came from the L.P.
Saint Joan Of Arc The Greatest Christian Martyr Ever She Sacrificed Her Pious Life For Words Of GOD And For The Freedom of A Great Nation Called France.Saint Joan Bravely Fought evil english army .May Jesus Christ Son Of God Bless Her Soul
@saccyind Well, ok. Joan of Arc did claim inspiration from God, and did lead (against initial stiff opposition, discrimination and ridicule) French armies toward several important victories during the Hundred years' War, and was treated like s*** for it - after being further abused and ridiculed and then executed by burning at the stake, eventually they decided to make her a saint. I guess that was their way of saying "er, maybe we were wrong, sorry!"
I've owned this track, like most other top end eighties tunes on 7" vinyl and then on cassette and then on CD and now I'm searching on "GIG" and using somebody elsy's "GIG to store it, and I can take that stored "GIG" any where on the planet As long as I've a mobile signal, you kids now you don't know your born, 44 now, if you smoke, stop tomorrow !!
by definition, and Orchestral Manoeuver in the Dark, would be something done behind the scenes that affects the entire situation... Something orchstral is something that makes up something else - the circumstance itself being orchestrated.. In the dark refers to where no one knows its you, or what you are up to.
Una de mis canciones favoritas de todos los tiempos......y de mis grandes momentos de "loco romantico" ....... ¡ Como hecho de menos aquellos años¡. thx for post it ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
This group started out like Simple Minds but then later on became too commercial when they released "If You Leave", just like when Simple Minds released "Don't you forget about me". I wish they would have kept making songs like this. Can say the same for U2 and Coldplay as well.

I agree with peter mcphreak
Mais. This song has shockingly sexist lyrics, gotta love the 80s!
I still rate it is as being the best emotional connection we have with the woman herself.
Thats some rate/conceptual leap. Discuss.
