  • Magnificent! He moves like a butterfly. ;)

  • Jeez people, can you so easily be sucked in?

  • @johntechwriter ~ What are you talking about? These are actual, rare film clips, not animated stills, that have been unearthed in the former Soviet Union.

  • @edwardjames50 Just imagine what could be done with photographs of Nijinksy if funds were available. Theoretically an entire animated ballet - or at least a solo variation - could be created using Nijinsky's physique and posture. Computer simulations of his range of movement, including his 'hovering' jump, could be used to re-create his Spectre, or his Golden Slave, or his Petrushka. I am sure ballet enthusiasts the world over would be eager to buy such an animation on DVD.

  • fake?

  • In my heart - only He, my God, Great Magician, Teacher, Tsar of all Tsars.

  • I think these little clips work best if you don't look too closely and just let yourself bask in the ambience that's created. They're lovely for what they are. But if only we had real footage. (sigh)

  • @Bolenderable I know....it's not fair....I want to see him really dance so bad.

  • @Tabbykitten7 We all do!
