It's all relative. Like the game is good at what it does, whether you like what it does or not is entirely up to you. That's why I analyze the game, not myself, in the review. What I think of the game is, essentially, irrelevant. What the game does and how well it does it, is all that truly matters. For all intensive purposes, any sort of media is open to audience interpretation, so even my 'absolute-quality' philosophy is, in the end, relative to whoever plays the game.
As far as competativness, I think Halo3 is... more competative.
Judging by how halo 3 is a lot simpler, I think people bitch and moan about who is better in Halo 3.
Most COD "oh fuck" moments have logical and clear answers, in opposition to Halo3 where... you're often killed by the guardians and glitchy crap like that.
Personally I view both the Halo and Call of Duty series' grossly over analyzed and over publicized. I reviewed the games because they are popular and my friends personally, who did not own them at the time, wanted to know what I though of them (which is why I do most of my reviews). But nothing that Halo or COD have done wasn't done by Quake, Unreal and Counter-Strike as many as 12 years ago. And while I don't favor character-assassination, neither game is anything exceptionally unique.
the MP in COD 4 is really what shines about it. The SP is really linear with no alternate routes and being told what to do constantly. Vegas is more fun to play.
MP yes. I beat the single-player in like 4 days on it's hardest setting, but you're right it's such a great game why not play through it again and again, it's just fun as hell.
Great review, it really was. But what would you say is an overall better game: this or Halo 3? I've seen your review for Halo 3, and in both reviews you say the games are must-haves. But which is better. In my opinion, both games are incredible in their own ways, but I would say Call of Duty 4 takes the cake.
Well, see I try to make my reviews as unbiased as possible, so I avoid making comparisons like that in the actual review itself. So that's the reason I didn't make a comparison, because it's a review of Call of Duty 4 or a review of Halo 3, not like a comparison of the two. I was thinking about making a comparison video that like picks apart the best parts of each game to come to a hypothetical conclusion on which is better, but I have yet to throw that one together.
That's a fairly difficult question to answer if I'm speaking in equally unbiased terms. Both Call of Duty 4 and Halo 3 are the most recent sequels in a long line of other games with almost identical core gameplay, both games have a huge fanbase, and both are very solid titles. Call of Duty 4 takes itself far more seriously than Halo 3, and manages to avoid falling into typical melodrama, and it's definitely harbors a higher level of intensity than Halo 3.
I don't see myself as having the power or influence to distinguish the quality of one game over another, opinions being what they are. I will say that I like Call of Duty 4 better than Halo 3 (not to say that I don't like Halo 3, I do). But as for which is the better game, I leave that to you, and the thousands of other gamers to decide for yourselves, because that's the bigger picture, not a singular person's opinion, if you understand that.
thanx dude, the only Achievements I don't have are the "Find every enemy Intel Item" and "Sky dive to safety on Veteran difficulty", that last one is a little above my skill level... okay maybe a long way beyond my skill level.
i love watching your reviews, keep up the good work!
