  • from 0:00 to 8:19 i was in a mystical forest, some where out of this world.

  • My favorite of the Bach sons, listen to his concertos .. I prefer the major key fast movements, this guy was the most inventive composer of the 18th century in my opinion.

  • On peut même entendre le thème du tout début de la sonate pour flûte et piano de Francis Poulenc à 4mn18s.

    Étonnant non?

  • @andremarcdelcourt I was totally going to just post that. haha! isn't that awesome? good ear :)

  • Wow! What a treat to hear some WFB! You don't hear too much about this son. Thank you.

  • Your right, you hear more about C.P.E. Bach. W.F. was the better know of the 2, in their time though, but both were fairly well know. I'm not sure but didn't 1 move to England? & was labeled "The English Bach" or something? I picked up a cool DVD @ Amazon "Glory to God Alone: the Life of J.S. Bach" Actually, the entire Bach family, father, uncles, cousins, were all musicians. In there home town, the word Bach, was synonymous of "Music". BTW, sons of J.S. Bach, pretty big shoes to fill eh?

  • The English Bach was Johann Christian Bach 1735 -1782 his style was different to his half brothers being much younger then them.

  • Yes, a good family to be a part of! I think JC Bach was the 'London Bach', he met the young Mozart!

  • @gjc82071 J.C. Bach was the English Bach if I am not mistaken. I think the sons of the sons of the sons of J.S. Bach had pretty big shoes to fill themselves as the line seems to have died out there.

  • @JDMusicTuition There was a Wilhelm Frederich Ernst Bach who was composing around 1800. He was the last one AFAIK. Are you familiar with the actor Kyle McLachlan? He claims to be a direct descendant of JS, on his mother's side.

  • Perfect start for the weekend, thx!

  • I thank you for this post.Friedemann wrote some very interesting music particularly for the flute that as so many... undeservedly gets little attention. His handling of structure has a

brilliantly curvaceous linear quality that reminds me of Borromini's Cathedral designs.Kuijken performs this with marvelous zest.

  • Thank you for forwarding Smith...it's delightful.

  • I so much agree with you, his music is very special and I think he deserves by far more awareness from the public.

  • Fantastic. Purely Fantastic. Thank you so much for posting this.
