What does it matter if someone found out about Muse before/through/after Twilight? Muse fans are Muse fans; they're there for the music. I'm not ashamed to say that I found out about Muse through Twilight. I got dragged to the movie and left with remnants of this song floating through my head. Twilight whether you like it or not is extremely popular. Letting twilight use their song was a genius marketing technique to expand muses fan base but a large amount at once while being paid royalty rights at the same time. Its much more affective then advertising.

But the problem I have is it was the start of Muse's headlong slide down the slide of mediocrity - by becoming too popular trying to appeal to all demographics in order to appeal to that. The resistance was better than 90% of albums ever created, but compared to the rest of Muse's work it was a wet fart.
