It is pretty sad considering 4 out of 6 of these participants are dead.Andre,Terry Gordy,Jumbo and Baba are all gone.Dory and Stan are the only 2 left.
It's difficult to watch the terrible tole that Andre's disease had on Andre. Watching this makes me feel so bad for him because you know he was really hurting.
@iClarke93, yes, I totally agree. He was definitely in a lot of pain, but he was willing to go through it for the fans' sake. His body has been through a lot, and he just couldn't take it anymore a short while after that.
Andre's final match was a six man tag team match on December 4th 1992 All Japan
TV Real World Tag League Finals. The match was with Masa Fuchi, Haruka Eigen + Motoshi Okuma vs. Andre the Giant, Giant Baba + Rusher Kimura. Does anyone have that video to post?
I love the pop Baba gets when he comes out... in comparison to the other five legends.... and on part 2 of this... check out the look on Baba's face when he wants to tag in to fight Andre.... fucking priceless..... btw.... OH TSURUTA OH TSURUTA OH TSURUTA OH TSURUTA!!!! Greatest ring music in puro history
I can't believe it. 4 out of the 6 legends passed away within 10 years after this match: Andre in 1993, Baba in 1999, Jumbo in 2000, Bam Bam in 2001. The dream tag team match meant something in AJPW. In my book, AJPW was no longer how it used to be in many respects after the match.
Andre wrestled this match because he loved to wrestle. not allowing him to wrestle would have been bullshit on the part of any promoter. he knew he was dying let him finish his life like he wants too.
Andre's deeply rooted passion for wrestling is the only reason i can think about, but i admit it sounds credible, since the biz largely returned his dedication.
However, he paid a darn big price for his final salutes to wrestling, seeing what agony he was in. And don't forget that someone with Andre's measurements can be a serious danger to fellow workers, if not in full control of his body.
Andre's additude was admirable, whether it was reasonable, though, is another story.
If the records i checked are complete, this must be the next to his final match - already three months and a week thereafter he would be gone. It is still beyond me why he did all this to himself. As far as i know he was far from broke near the end of his life, yet he still continued to torture his distorted spine.
no one seems to have the answer to that, nim. Andre the Giant was my favorite wrestler growing up and I watched him literally waste away before our eyes. I can't believe anyone even ALLOWED him to wrestle at this time

This is very hard to watch.

You can see Stan Hansen's influence on wrestlers like Stone Cold,JBL,Johnny Ace and others from the skulls on his jacket, mustache, hat, etc.

All Japan never taped it... was never on All Japan videos either, and I was the biggest US follower of All Japan videos in 1992 to 1995

Poor Andre...he looked like he was struggling just to breath. He must have been at least 550 pounds.

Your right. The entire Andre, Jumbo, Bam Bam team are all gone now. Sad.

Seems as if the Japanese fans cheer the fact that he made it into the ring...a sad but telling fact.
I agree with those of you that it was honorable of the promoters to still book him.
These six men were pros, and they all knew they weren't going to get hurt by Andre, even in his condition.

This seems like a bizarre 6-man tag match.

You can actually see the look on Andre's face. He was in so much pain.

And man, he looks heavy here. He possibly really was close to 600 lbs. at the end of his life.

Andre was very close to death at this point. He can barely move.
