Thank god someone understands. Like I dress like a gothic guy. I'm pansexual not a lesbian or dyke or whatever. I'm doing exactly what you said. Not living up to stereotypes.
This really helped me enlighten so many obvious things! I also was asking myself, why you didnt "stay" female if you like boys and make yourself up. But its just as simple, fashion should be genderless and sexuality is nothing you can control, as well as a gender identity. It is really sad, but these stereotypes that are fixed in most peoples heads, like mine as well, are subconciusly decide what something actually has to be. And thats so wrong. Thanks for helping us breaking mind-traps :3
Oh! xD And I would like to point out that my boyfriend has hair past his shoulders and me, being his girlfriend, has magenta hair cut short to my ears.
It's just so NICE to be yourself and it's so nice to be accepted for that. :]
I've been silently following your deviantART and now your youtube channel for a couple months, and I have to say, you've inspired me to be less afraid of what people think of who I am, and to just be myself and live my life to the fullest. Thank you. :)
Short haired girls are hot! I prefer my hair short.. Anyways what I want to say is the whole clothing gender thing drives me CRAZY! Especially when it comes to kids. I had this friend going nuts on my FB bout how she hopes her 2nd kids a girl so she can dress her in pink and dresses and blah blah. I tried to point out that clothing has no sex. She wouldn't listen.
Besides making a girl wear dresser doesn't guarantee her femininity.
I was always one of those shy girls that would always have just guy friends, and ontop of that, i would never speak out my opinion. I was always put down for dressing boy-ish and playing in mud, playing with trucks, etc. Now that im older, im acting more like a girl, dress like a girl, and i was brung into this style by stereotypes. But out of all of that, i SPEAK OUT now. You and very few people have inspired me greatly. Now im not afraid to speak my word/my opinion and say what i think.
I like that you used girls with short hair and boys with long hair as an example in this video, I am a girl with very short hair and my boyfriend has very long hair.... people give us odd looks all the time. After I cut all my hair off so many of my friends and family members asked if I was a lesbian, and it confused the shit out of me. I didn't understand what the length of my hair had to do with my sexuality.... Our society is so strange.
My boyfriend does more personal grooming than I am xD He plucks his eyebrows and puts on more lotion than anyone should. Me on the other hand? I lean toward the punk side I have a mohawk, I don't care that much about my appearance most of the time I am rough around the edges and NOT ladylike at all and I got teased for being a dyke at college REGULARLY. It is so frustrating and really started wearing on my self-esteem after a while. People don't understand that it's not funny and it really hurts
Thank you for sharing this. I appreciate you for doing this, I could have never put my thoughts into words like you do. My thoughts are very same as yours, and I just can't understand why can't all of us think that way and let people be just themselves.
This just makes me think of when I told my mother I liked both men and women.
She just smiled and said that when people ask what her sexuality is she says "None of the above. I am not defined by who I want to have sex with. I am defined by who I am as a person. My sexuality is not for your entertainment."
This is now the response I give whenever I am asked.
just because you are so used to seeing black and white, woman and man, does not mean that everyone fits under all those categories. Seriously. I am confident in what I was born and who I am, I don't need these assholes on the street looking at me like I am some freak just because they don't know how to tell tits from dick. I AM A WOMAN who likes to look 'boyish'. NO. I am a woman who does what ever the fuck she wants because well, I don't give a fuck.
Sure I would love to be a man and have a dick that i could wave around every where, but no I am a woman and am fully comfortable with it, I just like to make 'different' choices in my life as to how I dress and do my hair. Yeah sure i don't wear make up and half the time yeah I do look like a man, but no. I AM NOT A MAN. These people need to take the shoe or whatever it is up there ass out and take a good look at it. Humans do strange and indescribeable things,
Seriously, I am a woman who enjoys shaving her head into a mohawk since I was fucking twelve, and I still get people around me looking at me and asking or thinking that I am actually a man. HELLO LOOK AT MY TITS I AM A WOMAN who just likes the hair style because it is comfortable and reflects what is within my mind. I have never claimed to be a man, nor a dyke and here people are assuming one or both of these things.
Subscribing to you was one of the best things I ever did :D I swear, every video you put up makes me want to post it on facebook to show all the ignorant turds on there some sense.
I love you!!!! You make me so happy! I was going to comment on that with the last video. No one want to see past the mask that most of society wears. Fuck em lol!
THANK you. It's like when I got my hair cut very short not too long ago. I was the happiest i've ever been with it, beaming even. I knew as soon as I did this that I was going to get comments from tons of people about me being a dyke, a lesbian, a boy, etc. And I did, quite a lot of the time. For once however, it didn't bother me because my happiness meant more than some dumb fuck's ignorant comment.
my boyfriend is a punk lumberjack haha. I completely agree with you with this rant; I have been called a lesbian so many times because of what I wear and it took a major hit to my self esteem. Thank you for this video
What I don't get is why people ask you why you didn't "stay a girl". Maybe I'm wrong but you are a boy. You have always been and always will be a boy. There wasn't this magic epiphany where you were like "Alright, today I'm going to stop being a girl and I'm going to be a boy!" You were always you.
I'm a fairly straight girl, and I'm going to shave my head soon.
And it's going to be fucking fierce.

People need to keep all their hate and stereotypes and thoughts to themselves. They aren't helping, nor discouraging, they are just plain retarded.

I hate when people look at others and assume that they're this or they're that.
People need to learn that people are different and that rather than hate, we need to love, and to allow self expression, not to deny it.
