Oh wow the dad is kinda hot...So sorry to all the good people that don't think of him that way....my teenage female hormones are getting the best of meh....
@Jacklgf And just to clarify, I never said anything about the music. Personally I don't think it's even that good. Maybe next time you should try actually reading the comment before replying.
@Jacklgf It seems that in the TV series they are trying to target a younger generation, by dealing with problems that were familiar in the 80s but not when Laura was actually growing up. Having read your comment about moneygrabbing producers, I think it also rings true to Michael Landon. He turned a great and much loved book series into a soap opera, 80s style, maybe not only for "the love of the book" (which he proceeded to ruin the whole point of) but , dare I say it, for the money.
@Jacklgf I'm not at all sure what you're saying about Walt Disney, because the point wasn't anything to do with him. It was about the Little House books, written by Laura Ingalls Wilder, a true story, and my point was that in the episodes that Michael Landon directed, the series represents both her and Pa inaccurately, at least it seems that way if you have read the books.
@Jacklgf Seriously? It shouldn't have been made if it doesn't star or hasn't been made by Michael Landon? OK he was good in the series but he didn't make it realistic AT ALL. Take episode 108 The Lake Kezia Monster, like Laura would EVER have schemed like that! She says "we could tell Pa, he wouldn't mind" in the book Laura would have got a severe telling off for even THINKIG about tricking someone like that! She couldn't even raise her voice without Ma telling her "modulate your voice Laura"
My wife is a huge LHOTP fan so I often buy her books about the subject. One book that I bought her many years ago was a collection of Laura's correspondence toward the end of her life. The most interesting letters were those from Aunt Lottie (Charlotte) that revealed a lot about Ma Caroline Ingalls as a young girl. It would seem, from those letters, that Caroline Quiner was a bit of a rebel in her own right and not always the gentle, sober "Ma" that we know from the books.
Thanks for posting this! I've been looking for it for a while. I think it's the miniseries ABC/The Disney Channel put out a few years ago maybe? I loved it when it aired on TV and haven't been able to find it since, so thanks!
I'm a huge fan of the LHOTP tv series but I like this too. It has it's own flavour and feel to it.
The series Bonanza (belonging to Landon of the first TV incarnation of LHOTP) is talked about in great bio Charlton Heston: An Incredible Life at amazon! I can't watch any LH version without considering him and Melissa Gilbert!
I turned off captions, but they are still there. :(
Does anyone know how to get rid of them
or if there is an upload without them?
