Not really. It depends on one who is your service provider. Some dont allow generators to be attached to the grid. There is also addition equipment that you have to purchase in conjunction. Better talk to pwr provider than to get in trouble and/or waste money
No its a meter that can be fed backwards....by law the power company has to pay, if you produce energy you dont use...
