  • What is the music you use in this video? I like it a lot.

  • @natlud6688 Latche Swing is the band. The song is called Rythme Gitan.

  • Thanks for the feedback. I no longer use music during the instructional portion of my videos. You tube does not let me edit previously uploaded videos so I can't change this one.

  • Easy to thumbs up! Your tutorials are really excellent! I find that it is easier to understand because you talk clearly and slowly and use those big needles so I can actually see what you are doing. The super close-up also helps.

My only criticism is that I find the background music somewhat distracting...I don't think you need it!

  • how do you close this stitch?, i mean, when i try to close it looks weird..

  • @marinamendozallamas You should be able to bind off in pattern. Can you send me a photo? johnny{at}newstitchaday[dot]com

  • @newstitchaday Figured it out :), Thank you for answering so fast, have a nice day!

  • I have a question... I tried to do a one-row button hole after I knitted 10 rows or so of that beautiful Horizontal Herringbone Stitch . After I did that, I was left with 16 stiches instead of 20...

    Is that normal?

That's the first one-row button hole I've ever done, but maybe it didn't work well because of this specific Horizontal Herringbone Stitch?

can I do holes in every pattern of knitting?

  • @shiroosh23 Honestly, I don't know. Doesn't sound like that should happen.

However, this is not a stitch I would want to put a button hole in, since it might mess up the pattern. I'm not saying it can't be done, but I'm not sure how I would go about doing it.

You may want to consider adding a button band to the end?

In general you can add a button hole to most knitting patterns, just depends on the pattern and how you a going to integrate the hole into the pattern.

  • Does this pattern require an odd or even count to cast on to start or does it matter? Thanks! :)

  • @xakrynn even

  • Hello, you are a great knitter, thanks for your tutorial. I knit this stitch a little different from your method, on row 1,.. I k2tbl instead of the ssk because I find it easier and less tricky....thanks

  • @rosanna1952 Thanks! Your welcome! K2tog tbl works too!

  • lol this is like a Dharma Initiative video

  • @jaimelepink We try not to talk about who we get our research funding from...

  • This stitch is pretty, but too complicated for me!

  • @javagirl69 Give it a try. It's easier than you think! Just follow each step exactly.

  • Thanks so much. This hat I've been dying to make used this stitch along with repeating eyelets. Plus, I love to see that a guy is knitting. Thanks again!

  • Thanks a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @nilgiri2008 Glad we could help!
