  • fuckin whalecore I love it

  • Funeral Doom at it's best.

  • I have never heard of Ahab before last week when I stumble on them. Very brutal and dark. I love them!! Now I will have to hunt down their cd's

  • Ahabs bad, dnt hate

  • SAIL AND KILL

  • This is so good after some weed.

  • Mmh, this whole funeral doom style sounds so boring to me. There's only atmosphere, and although it's one I enjoy, there's nothing in the instruments or composition that I find even remotely interesting. Ofcourse: to each his own! I wish the doomfans much... eh... lack of fun with their music. :P

But I'm going back to Origin & Cryptopsy, where I apparently belong. ;)

  • @CryptopsyDeicide This band only has 3 members; they can't play many instruments :P

  • @CryptopsyDeicide Good. Newb.

  • @CryptopsyDeicide You have to have patience. And honestly it would be impossible to listen to a funeral doom song without patience

  • everytime it storms i listen to ahab

  • A bit too slow for my taste but this is very good

  • love this man

  • Like a god damned wall

    you cannot escape

  • too boring.

  • Embrace the Doom

  • its not very depressive. it tells a sad story. want depressive music? go to ophis, an autumn for crippled children, wormphlegm,...

  • @cssNuramoN Ahab is pretty good mate. Wormphlegm did blow my mind though. Question. Would you be able to tell me the name of the black and white video that is featured in their video on youtube? I have it on my channel, if you don't mind lookin

  • @clockwerkkilla420 And I love Autumn for Crippled Children. Have you ever listened to blut aus nord or wodensthrone?

  • @clockwerkkilla420

i tink dat movies called "begotten".

  • Ahab is a fucking monster waiting for you to die to feast on your corpse

  • So brutal, it's like listening to your own death, or slowly drowning in a tar pit, or driving 1mph to get somewhere.

  • This band is just amazing..i dont know..this is the only funural doom metal band i listen to, all the others get me bored..but this is just pefect!

    Metal, hail to the Metal!

  • @InExfabi666 its the same with me^^

  • This band is SO fucking beautiful.

  • the most depressive music i've ever heard

  • @sirile99 I can't tell if thats a complement or a criticism. :P

  • THIS IS AWSUM!!!

  • @21Bouncer Try to find Thergothon's "Streams From the Heavens", they actually started the whole funeral doom movement...

  • Ahab reminded me of the pleasure of doing everything slowly while the whole world spins like mad. I found again my tranquility. fuck all "once in a lifetime" chances, hail all 24/7 shops.

  • Just discovered the majesty of Ahab and evoken. There is no going back now, not that i´d want to.

  • this is awsome, i wish i had more time to listen

  • This is metal.

  • Fuck the ocean, dude. I'm building a tower in the desert.

  • so far ahab are very slow heavy and this will probably be my doom metal band of choice, can anyone gimme good doom metal to listen to like these guys or anything talented

  • @21Bouncer Check out Evoken and Stabat Mater.

  • @21Bouncer Winter, The Ocean, Evoken,Virgin Black, Draconian, My Dying Bride, Novembers Doom

  • @21Bouncer Tyranny

  • @21Bouncer Catacombs, Esoteric, Pantheist

  • ...Bitchin'.

  • Blastbeats are overrated

  • doom slowly has your soul and the more you listen to it , the less you' drown into life's falsehood

  • So fucking epic we need a new word for epic.

  • Death Doom....meh.

  • Wow, so langsam und episch, so düster und bedrohlich, so entspannend und doch ängstigend. Alles in einem Song. Das vermag keine Weichspül-Popband!!!

    MfG

  • very good band. and the thematology from th Moby Dik book is very original

  • HAIL AHAB.

  • AHAB now has an Official Facebook Page and the perfect place to support the band and find information on merchandise and shows. \../(..)\../

  • sooooo sloooooow. somehow achieves epic and bland at the same time

  • @yrahcazwolf im not gunna lie, i didnt like these guys at all when i first heard them. now i fucking love them!

  • old thunder is missing here!!11

its middle part cant be beaten concerning epicness!

  • I bought it. It's a great album and the sound is far better on the CD.

  • best record of the 21st century

  • \m/

  • German Funeral Doom

  • Slow drums are actually very difficult to play.

  • its just the timing thats difficult.

  • true dude, sometimes the muscles wanna go faster than the mind.

  • @ChunkyPirate i don't think so

  • @ChunkyPirate

It's the old saying, the better you get, the slower you can play :)

  • I believe this is their best song.

    And my favourite. 5/5

And it goes to my favourites, too.

  • This isn't one song.

  • Washburn guitars for the win!!!

He uses a Washburn Dimebag, yay!

  • Anyone know what the hell kind of tuning Ahab uses?

  • judging by the lowest note in the riff I'd say either drop C or C standard. by I dunno I just out about them.

    Awesome band.

  • sounds lower to me

  • it sounds like A#. It's pretty damn heavy!

Ahab seems to be an interesting band.

  • Below the thunders of the upper deep,

far, far beneath, in the abysmal sea,

    his ancient, dreamless, uninvaded sleep,

    the Kraken sleepeth...

    - Alfred Lord Tennyson

  • People not accustomed to this music would say "it all sounds the same". I would say the songs have similarities, but the music is just to slow for the uninitiated to process.

  • I uploaded this whole album if anyone wants to hear it! :D

  • that below the sun song always freaks me out at 2 min

  • Oh my God I love the eerie atmosphere of this band.

  • "From hell's heart, I stab at thee."

  • Powerful, dreaming, distressing, painful, romantic, natural, human and animal.

    Never heard something like this.

A sound that must be in.

A music necessary, from the depth.

  • ahab the best

  • Anyone who's into roleplaying, Ahab and doom in general makes for excellent atmospheric music to play in the background. Although you might find yourself getting distracted by it from time to time.

  • great Song & Band

  • Majestic.....

  • Ahab is one of the greatest doom metal bands that have arised to the surface from the murcky depths in years..

A must have for any Doom metal freaks..

    like myself 'lol'

  • thanks for posting this..

  • Great album!
