Well I just checked myself gang.... Their movie "30 Years of Maximum R&B" was released in 1994. It was a 4-cassette tape package with booklet, also same on CD. And you can get it on VHS and DVD both from 'Amazon' among others. I have the cassette package,a friend got the VHS that Christmas of '94,it's excellent footage from the 60's & mostly 70's. The songs are all complete too!!! There is dialogue and a couple of tunes from 'Quadrophenia' as well,Keith does "Bell Boy". A must have for Who fans.
What can you say?.....it doesn't get any better than this!!!! I never got to see them with Keith, had the chance to in '76 but..... My first time was 1980 with Kenney Jones & Rabbit, when they did this with the same lasers it felt like you were in limbo. In the movie "30 Years of Maximum R&B" John says "The Beatles could write better songs than we could, but we could blow em' off the stage any day". "30 Years..." is another awesome Who flick from late 90's of complete old footage,VHS,no DVD yet.
I LOVE THE WHO! So Much Energy! Such a joy to watch 'em at work! I really feel Angus Young of AC/DC was inspired by Pete's awesome lead guitarist energy. I mean just look how much he gets in to it! Awesome! RIP Keith and John :(
john entwistle is the most amazing bassist ever, he can play like a spirit man . god rest his soul . played out with a pro , pumped on coke, what a way to say goodbye.

On Nov.7,!969 I saw The Who at the Convocation Center in Athens, Ohio...row 11, seat 21...tickets were $3.50! If anyone tells you that any band plays louder than the Who...they are liars!!! over 2 hours at 120dbs...Listen to "Live at Leeds" to get the best picture of what I saw and heard. On Feb.5,1975 I saw Queen at the Agora theater in Columbus, Ohio...another $3.50 well spent. In Dec. of 1976 I saw the Who in Cleveland...tickets were an outrageous $12.50!!! Keith Moon was the best!!!
the who played so loud, and i wish there was a live perfomance of this in the early 70s, keith is in his decline here :(...most entertaining drummer ever
So you are saying Pete Townshend downloads invisible child pornography because the Scotland Yard police did not find anything that would indicate Pete had or searched online for any child pornography and the Scotland Yard police are some of the finest in the world. Not only that but Pete has raised money for charities that help abused children. If you are being serious then you should do your research before you post and if you are not then this post is pretty pointless.
I get the chills when I see Pete slide across the stage. This is Rock & Roll at it's finest. Watch 7:58 when Keith Moon breaks a crash and launches it off of his kit.
Amazing. This is the second live thingy I've ever seen and my mind just fried, exploded and re-emanated back to it's never-to-be-the-same-again lump. Just like that I have a new favourite band.
That was awesome on a whole new level. Suddenly I understand why the rock concerts of today bore me. This is real.
Just an FYI to all Keith Moon fans, there is a very incisive profile of our favorite drummer in the latest issue of The New Yorker; some very technical observations about his style and rock drummers in general.
Keith was the funniest guy I ever met in a band. My older brother was the one who got me a back stage pass where I met him. One of those days that seems like it happened yesterday it was so cool.
@ludehead ..All the more makes me regret I never saw them perform live. I think their last tour came through my town (St. Louis) in 1982...which was billed as their "Farewell Tour". I'm with you, this version is phenomenal.
Today we have little monitors that go in your ears. Not so much back then. What Keith has on his head are monitors. So hear can hear everything evenly.
