  • god o mighty keith is THE SHIT

  • There is a series of photographs in an old Rolling Stone magazine where Pete shows the secret of the bunny hop....kneepads.

By the way, this is on the short list of songs to be played at my memorial service.

  • @pjconleype Man I think about what songs I'd like to be played when I die too! Jump, Luka, Hell's Kitchen, Spirit of the Radio are some to the day, I still have time though, I'm 17 jajajaja

  • @slashdelbarrio The other songs are Thunder Road and Tangled Up in Blue. They will be playing them sooner, I am 55, oh well.

  • Sent this video out once again, just as a reminder of Who's Who!!! Dec.15, 1971, Seattle Coliseum (Who's Next Tour) festival seating--$5.00 Still in my mind's eye.

  • 7:25 to 7:45 20 MOST EPIC SECONDS IN MY LIFE!

  • AMAZING i have all their albums

  • I get on my knees and pray to God my thanks for growing up (and growing old) with the greatest punk rock band of all time. Or you a Mod or are you a Rocker?

  • @BigDtootall Um no I'm a Mocker.

  • CSI Miami

  • @WeAreUnion1 Uh no....this is the real deal, respect the band for who they were, not some show that happens to play their songs

  • best live song ever........7:42.......chilling

  • 7:39 melted my face off

  • I swear Moon's going to just jump out of his skin.

  • this band is FUCKING AMAZING!

  • townsend is overrated, keith moon was unreal, but entwistle was the best rock and roll bass guitarist ever.

  • Three questions that will never be answered: Who really shot JFK? Why is that Justin Beiber guy famous and How in the hell did 5 people click dislike on this video?

  • @krammit69 Ahahah,well said,but life is mistery,bro......let them enjoy the Spice Girl..ahah..how don't agree with you???

  • @krammit69 New Commandment....Thou Shalt Not Invoke the name of a Current artist in comparison to a different genre oif music. Lest ye be labeled a fucking asshole.

  • This is the first time I've listened to The Who and I must say I'm impressed!

  • @VoodooChild369 I have a question, what wre you doing beofre listening to them, you are one deprived child.

  • @Classicrockismylife9 Listening to Led Zeppelin and so forth and I just happened to stumble across this song.

  • Well I just checked myself gang.... Their movie "30 Years of Maximum R&B" was released in 1994. It was a 4-cassette tape package with booklet, also same on CD. And you can get it on VHS and DVD both from 'Amazon' among others. I have the cassette package,a friend got the VHS that Christmas of '94,it's excellent footage from the 60's & mostly 70's. The songs are all complete too!!! There is dialogue and a couple of tunes from 'Quadrophenia' as well,Keith does "Bell Boy". A must have for Who fans.

  • What can you say?.....it doesn't get any better than this!!!! I never got to see them with Keith, had the chance to in '76 but..... My first time was 1980 with Kenney Jones & Rabbit, when they did this with the same lasers it felt like you were in limbo. In the movie "30 Years of Maximum R&B" John says "The Beatles could write better songs than we could, but we could blow em' off the stage any day". "30 Years..." is another awesome Who flick from late 90's of complete old footage,VHS,no DVD yet.

  • I LOVE THE WHO! So Much Energy! Such a joy to watch 'em at work! I really feel Angus Young of AC/DC was inspired by Pete's awesome lead guitarist energy. I mean just look how much he gets in to it! Awesome! RIP Keith and John :(

  • the Headphones that never fall off,,,,GaffaTape!..........loll

  • I WANT TO DEDICATE THIS SONG TO THE BROTHERS OF LIBYA, EGYPT AND TUNISIA!!! GO ON, FRIENDS!! YOU WON'T GET FOOLED AGAIN!!!

  • better than 'she loves you yeah yeah yeah' :)

  • @outshore ooh ,i don't know about that

  • Gotta Love the Wind-Mill !!!

  • My Headphones are soaking with blood!

  • Best stage presence ever!

  • @Chriskkboongg two word's feller" freddie mercury"

  • No band, EVER, has been this close to being this awesome on stage

  • @KENNYPWNAGE disagree feller

  • WHAT A ROCKEN SONG , KEITH MOON RIPS RIGHT INTO THIS SONG , AMAZEING -RIP KEITH ,

  • Wow different key than I'm used to. R.I.P John

  • @98fenderstringbender Woops John isn't dead sry guys (and girls :) )

  • @98fenderstringbender Sorry, but he is . Died 27th June 2002.

  • yeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    amo este tema !!

  • i have to see them live again!

  • Has there ever been a better bassist than John E? I don't think so. And there never will be. You will always be a legend, Ox.

  • john entwistle is the most amazing bassist ever, he can play like a spirit man . god rest his soul . played out with a pro , pumped on coke, what a way to say goodbye.

thanks man you are a hero , yes yes yes you are. peace bruv. x.

you wont get fooled again ever bro .

  • awesome , awesome, awesome thats all i can say. round 2 lets av it again yes! .

  • the ending to this blew my mind apart

  • Truly amazing live performance of a super wonderful song.

  • Oh my eyes !! World class is the only description for this performance.Pure England,London,Mods.I love them.

  • On Nov.7,!969 I saw The Who at the Convocation Center in Athens, Ohio...row 11, seat 21...tickets were $3.50! If anyone tells you that any band plays louder than the Who...they are liars!!! over 2 hours at 120dbs...Listen to "Live at Leeds" to get the best picture of what I saw and heard. On Feb.5,1975 I saw Queen at the Agora theater in Columbus, Ohio...another $3.50 well spent. In Dec. of 1976 I saw the Who in Cleveland...tickets were an outrageous $12.50!!! Keith Moon was the best!!!

  • i wish i could see queen and the who both in their prime never got too:(

  • Who you said? the Who it will be. Nothing compares.

  • the who played so loud, and i wish there was a live perfomance of this in the early 70s, keith is in his decline here :(...most entertaining drummer ever

  • An aggravated assault on the ears, eyes, and their instruments. You kids have no idea how LOUD these guys played. Concrete shook.

  • @SpacemanEddie Some of us who appreciate good music really wish we did get to experience it, though. If only I could go back in time. If only...

  • wow, that was awesome!!! can someone tell me what concert was this live performance taken from? thanks :D

  • 4 douchebags don't want to be fooled again so far.

  • Fooled Again.................by Obama.

  • bollix

  • The Greatest Rock Song of All Tine.... PERIOD!!!

  • what year was this

  • @tomoutlane

1977 I believe. It's from the 1979 film The Kids Are Alright though but the performance is from 1977.

  • @atgskater14 Thanks for that info

  • 7:40 i fucking love it

  • I caught the at the Fillmore East cica 1970 in support of the Rock Opera.

When Rock music actually had something to say prior to corporate America seeking its unmusical + Philistine teeth into the proceedings.

  • i just jizzed rofl

  • @TheInflatabledoll

Bottom line Pete was acquitted of all charges, he is innocent.

  • @atgskater14 acquitted and innocent are not necessarily the same thing. We'll probably never know.

  • this performance is fucking electric

  • @TheInflatabledoll

So you are saying Pete Townshend downloads invisible child pornography because the Scotland Yard police did not find anything that would indicate Pete had or searched online for any child pornography and the Scotland Yard police are some of the finest in the world. Not only that but Pete has raised money for charities that help abused children. If you are being serious then you should do your research before you post and if you are not then this post is pretty pointless.

  • I'm not even joking... I would commit murder to be at this concert :D

  • I get the chills when I see Pete slide across the stage. This is Rock & Roll at it's finest. Watch 7:58 when Keith Moon breaks a crash and launches it off of his kit.

  • best song ever

  • the whole song gave me chills the whole way through.. fucking amazing. i <3 the who!!!

  • fuckin hell, just like rhe barmy arms twickenham

  • There is simply no substitute. This is the benchmark for a rock band.

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @mrliamwhite wow!! especially 7.20 onwards

  • @mrliamwhite wow!! especially 7:20 onwards

  • hahahaha cymbal looks funny

  • Haha cymbal gets battered right off the set @ 7:54

  • 7:37 to about 7:43 just about the best live rock footage of all time. If the still image of it isnt a poster it ought to be.

  • this is honestly 1 of greatest rock performances ive seen, this is how its done rock n fucking roll what a song.

  • 4 fuckin morons dont understand music greatest band of 60 and 70s and one of the greatest bands of all time awesome song amazing performance

  • (live with Keith Moon) <---- reason i picked this video

  • @obitobi100 me being a drummer, i did the same thing lol

  • if i see a fukin rock in the dictionary where rock should be

    im going to be pissed

  • i see it now the Who is Zeppelin FUN

  • i am the female keith moon

  • Ah the Who....I theorise that without these guys, heavy metal and hard rock would never exist (And that's a compliment to The Who)

  • @femoman very true

  • THE WHO _ the best rock band in 1965, the best rock band in 1978, and still (even with the changes) the best rock band PERIOD!

  • The essence of rock and roll at 7:37

  • XXX

  • what 4 twats could dislike this quality

  • Never Equalled, Never Bettered, The WHO at their best - playing live!

  • haha, I just realized Keith Moon looks like Murdock from the new a team movie :D

  • the best band in history ive seen most major acts but the who blows me away

  • Who that?!

  • IF YOU HAVE THE DVD LISTEN TO IT WITH DIRECTOR JEFF STIENS COMMENTS ABOUT HOW HE HAD TO ASK THEM TO REDO THIS SONG AND THIS IS THE VERSION THEY DID!

  • watched from 7:38 to 7:44 over 100 times never lost its epic apeal

  • this is the way music is suppost to be played fuck music of today

  • To anyone critical of Keith Moon's drumming, Keith would just say "My friends call me Keith, you can call me John..."

  • @uspscsx

John was actually Keith's middle name so on the "Smothers Brothers" show he was probably referring to his middle name

  • Amazing. This is the second live thingy I've ever seen and my mind just fried, exploded and re-emanated back to it's never-to-be-the-same-again lump. Just like that I have a new favourite band.

That was awesome on a whole new level. Suddenly I understand why the rock concerts of today bore me. This is real.

    Brilliant upload.

    Thanks!

  • THe scream is even better here than on the album.

  • Oh my fucking god yes

  • squirt *-*

  • OMFG....this f...ing rules.... rock on brutha's

  • i wish HD cameras were invented in the 70's...

  • probably the greatest 9 minutes in Rock history!

  • there isn't a band on earth

    today

    that can touch them

  • @milkycooler yeah, theyre the best band ever, no one could ever top them.

  • I wonder what song Moonie's listening to on those headphones.

  • Just an FYI to all Keith Moon fans, there is a very incisive profile of our favorite drummer in the latest issue of The New Yorker; some very technical observations about his style and rock drummers in general.

  • i just saw a cymbal fly off at 7:54!!!

  • Leave Politics out what suits the ASSHOLES.................Fuck OFF

  • Keith was the funniest guy I ever met in a band. My older brother was the one who got me a back stage pass where I met him. One of those days that seems like it happened yesterday it was so cool.

  • @holocaustexpert

Man, that's pretty cool. You definitely have those collectables in the right place. That's some pretty good rock n roll history there.

  • Poor Guitar 8:35 what did it do wrong?

  • amazing live performance BLEW MY MIND!!!

  • Love it!!! New found respect for the Who... specially Keith Moon, and John Entwistle. May they RIP. This video just kills!!!

  • @DatingGameKiller

Yeah ,and this was supposedly one of their worst gigs. I think that it fucking rocks!

  • @ludehead ..All the more makes me regret I never saw them perform live. I think their last tour came through my town (St. Louis) in 1982...which was billed as their "Farewell Tour". I'm with you, this version is phenomenal.

  • This band might appear like a load of guys from West London that don't know the score.......................Obama, listen to this.

  • @dogsbreath101 What the fuck are you talking about??Leave the politics out you twat.

  • @catweazlex You stupid CUNT. They were singing (in America). "Won't Get Fooled Again." yuo fucking MORON.

  • Le plus grand groupe de tous les temps et quel batteur !!!!

  • I cannot imagine Rock music ever improving on this. Some won't like it, some will be too stupid but if you know anything about music....

  • best bass player ever!

    Rock'n'Roll will never die!

  • I'm so jealous of my parents, they grew up around the legendary bands like the who, the beatles and the sex pistols so lucky. and we get fucking hannah montanna and justin bieber *shudders* but i suppose ill live beause we also got the kaiser chiefs, the gorillaz and the killers :)

  • @argumentalcom - Have you ever heard the story about the song "Who Are You" about an encounter Pete Townshend had with two of the Sex Pistols in a bar in the 70's. Pete saw them and screamed "Who the fuck are YOU" got all fucked up later that night and then passed out in a door way in SoHo and was woken up by a cop that told him "Pete you can go home if you can get up and walk away." Its all in the songs lyrics check it out.

  • WTF the bass line's totally INSANE lol

    Oo

  • I was at this concert. It was one of 5 WHO concerts I attended over 15 years. I had connections and got a chance to meet Keith a few times backstage. It was so cool.

  • @holocaustexpert

    Lucky bastard!

  • @ludehead - I also have a set of drum sticks signed and given to me by him in the 1970's. They are in a safe deposit box they are so rare and valuable.

  • This video blew my ears off.

So I turned up the volume.

  • The Who are just AMAZING!

  • @MikeLamb24 ovverrated bassist? you are crazy man XDhe is one of the best

  • @MikeLamb24 . Put the crack pipe down and slowly back away, Mike. The Who would BLOW AWAY any of the stupid sh!t you're listening to. Today's music SUCKS compared to these dudes.
