Well, it wasn't very difficult to guess who would win with most of the categories. :S

Billy Elliot was a shoe-in and so were others. They were probably rewriting certain things backstage as the winners were being announced. The winners are kept secret until the envelopes are opened. They just needed to get a tune down. So they guessed.

And they guessed well.

Every time they announced a winner during the rehearsal they would say, "For the purposes of this audition" which led us all to believe they were just reading off names so they could get an accurate run time of the whole show, however, every name the read off as a winner in the rehearsal actually won later that night, the exceptions being the clip package of the technical awards that were given out before the broadcast.

Wait, so that means that everyone in the dress rehearsal audience knew who won before the actual show. That doesnt make sense.

I read somewhere that the writers guessed, and guessed well......but they had to change a few bits just before with guesses they got wrong. Heavy burden for NPH :S
