she's amazing but she played it better when she was 10, I think her tempo here is to fast.one of things why I love her is because she does everything in the right speed and doesn't force it faster than it should be just to show her skills, unlike the other. she's gone too far in this but that's just my opinion and she's still my favorite violinist

My thought was that since she wouldn't want to take her Guarneri violin outdoor to play for video shooting, she would take her spare violin which seemed to me like a Chinese violin but I could be wrong. What I am sure of is that this violin is not her original Guarneri...

@dkurgano As a matter of technique, the audio part of any music video is first recorded, then the recording is played back to the performers during the making of the video. The audio isn't spliced, but the video sure is.

yes a colleague of mine recalled a story in which one of his students was good friends with her parents, and needed a violin. The parents invited him over to try some of her old violins out. He said it was as if Changs family owned a franchise of violin shops.

It must be hard to compete with the image of your former self (young Sarah Chang). I prefer the other recording of when she was a young girl; that recording is much more crisp, clean, and placid. Someone commented that she is now "scratchy" Sarah Chang, which I agree a little bit. If she attempted to change her technique or provide a more contemporary interpretation, then that's fine. But some pieces may as well be played as is without any modifications.
