  • You can hear Perkin's influence in a lot of early Beatle's songs.

  • I think Elvis sang it better, but Carl played it better. (I love Scotty Moore, but...)

  • this is real music not no remix stuff where music is repetative this is the real stuff

  • I AM VERY CRAZY,on 78 ROUNDS PER MINUTE SHELLACK ROCK AND ROLL RECORDS,ROCK THE BLUES AWAY ,HAIL HAIL ROCK & ROLL,ROCKING JOHAN

  • I reckon about 250 to 300 quid. Am I close?

  • I heard that Carl wrote this song while traveling in a car with Johnny Cash and Waylon J? They were on hi-way 64 in Parkin Ark. when one of them climbed over the seat to the back, one of them was wearing blue bucks. He said "don't step on my blue suede shoes " Carl wrote down the lyrics on a paper sack finished the song in 20 minutes. Maybe told by J. Cash. True???

  • @arkyron1947 yes it is true

  • @arkyron1947 carl was without work at that time. he was standing in line for his unemploiment money and somebody almost stept on his blue suede shoes

that was the beginning of the sond.

  • @simon160 I like the other version better true or not!

  • Your Killin' Me...

  • @Rattlehead930 Check out Goldmine and Discoveries magazines. I have seen new and re-conditioned phonographs listed.

  • one of his nephews is my guitar teacher :D

  • Thank you!!!

  • great song by carl & probably the best version ahead of buddy holly, eddie cochran & elvis

  • Man, I wish I had a record player that could play 78 RPM records, so I could listen to all my old singles. Unfortuenatly, my current record player only goes to 45 RPM :(

Great tune!! R.I.P. Carl Perkins <3

  • @Rattlehead930 Check antique shops. I've seen lots of record players in good condition that will run 78s and at give away prices.

  • go cat, go!!

  • is this a carl or an elvis original idea??

  • carl...don't you see in the description that someone "borrowed" Carl's song.

  • love that old rockabilly stuff.been getting into it with the help of you tube.sonny burgess is also great.way more intense than the standard pop songs of that time..go cat....................

  • good stuff.

  • Carl doesnt get the credit he deserves.

    Ground breaking stuff.

    R.I.P. Gone, but not forgotten......

  • @david85251 He had a kneck injury from an auto accident then so he couldnt go out and promote the record so elvis ran with it [ carl wasnt bitter about it he said there was nothing stopping that boy elvis ]

  • @spacepatrolman Carl did not have a neck injury from the auto accident. He had a broken collarbone. His older brother Jay is the one whose neck was broken. Carl was only layed up for 5-weeks, then went back out on the road to promote his song. Elvis never ran with Blue Suede Shoes. Carl's version got to number-2 on the Billboard charts. Elvis's version which was released on an EP with 3-other songs only got to number- 20 on Billboard. Carl's verson sold close to 2-millions copys in 1956.

  • @moviemagg wonderful

  • I love this verson much better then Elvis's and im a HUGE Elvis fan

  • oh yes, it is. i've been to memphis two weeks ago and was able to get my hands on an original 7" of this song in nearly mint condition. it did cost a whole lot of money, though. but it was definitely worth it.

  • Great Rock n' Roll on this old fashion and gorgeous design "pickup". I just love it! ...and I already like u just 4 that ! Cheers. ETBRAIN.

  • Interesting idea...thanks for posting this.

I remember when I lived in Chicago I went to a Thrift Store and found the 78 record set soundtrack of the movie, "White Christmas".
