- Ghost in the Shell (The movie)

- Ghost in the Shell: Innocence ( 2nd movie)

- Ghost in the Shell: Stand alone complex (1st series)

- Ghost in the Shell: Stand alone complex 2nd GIG (2nd series)

- Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. Solid State Society (3rd movie).

The series and the 3rd movie should be watched in line, because the 3rd movie is a closure of the 2nd series.

I recommend the 1st movie - if you like it, try the series then.

@DemonXY2J I would recommend watching Ghost in the Shell (the 1995 anime not the 2008 remake) first, since it follows the main story of the manga. Then watch the first series, GitS: Stand Alone Complex, followed by the OVAs GitS: S.A.C. Solid State Society and GitS: The Laughing Man. After that, watch the second series, GitS: S.A.C. 2nd GIG and the OVA GitS: S.A.C. Individual Eleven. Finally, you may watch GitS: Innocence, which is the sequel to the 1995 Ghost in the Shell movie :)

Can someone please tell me what Section 6's objective was? Were they trying to destroy the puppet master? They had snipers shoot it. But if they wanted to destroy it, why did they go through the trouble of stealing it first? And why didn't they destroy it when they had their f*ing tank sitting on top of it?! Why did they wait?!

You see, Section 6 made the virus in the beginning and once it started to develop self awareness after they used it for illegal ops, they were worried and wanted to force it into a body so they could fix it to not be aware anymore. But when they took it back from Section 9, Section 9 chased after and got it back. So, in the end, the snipers shot it and Motoko to keep the secrets from coming out about who made the puppet master and why.
