@kentiiblade The black lines at the bottom were a graphics glitch because I accidentally recorded it in 60Hz, when the DVD Recorder can only handle 50Hz while recording. So, in my case, yes, I'd have to edit it out, but for you (a wiser and more observant individual) you won't have to do that if you change the settings before recording.

a good solution to record gameplay is by using AVerMedia Game Capture HD. It records 1080i from gamesoles without and lag while playing the game. The best thing is that a PC is not needed.

@kleinaca1 I'm not sure, I don't have a Mac myself. The Mac Pro in the video is my friend's. But if you take a look at my video "How to Get DVD Footage onto YouTube", you can take some of the steps taken in that video and follow the steps on your Mac. I guess, all you'd need to do is rip the footage off the DVD and make sure it's in a format that iMovie '11 can read... after that you should be all clear sailing :)

Yeah, my sister and my next-door neighbour were in the room when I recorded it, the footage was actually taken at his house...with his XBox 360 and his TV. This whole video was actually very spur-of-the-moment and I never really intended on putting up, but it was my first video so I had to start somewhere :)

To rip the DVD to your PC you can buy ImToo DVD Ripper Ultimate 6. Software works better for last gen systems and games though in my experience. Or really any DVD ripper software.

@HarderStylezNL Yeah Hi, I've had a look at your video and what I think it is is you have either a problem with the TV itself OR the Refresh Rate on your PS3 is too high for the DVD Recorder. You need to reduce the refresh rate to 50hz.

When I recorded the first CD i lost 3 files of 4. I could use only the first file. So I recorded another CD. Suddenly when I put the second CD, the three files that I lost I got them back, but I lost the file of the second CD :/

well im running into some right problems. i have a hi def very good dvd recorder that my mum gave me cos its to advanced for her to use, anyway i plug everything in right but i get a line hafe way across my screen and the bottem half is all fucked up. so i changed my settings in my 360 from pal 60 to pal 50 and bingo it worked BUT the games wont play in pal 50 only 60. so im fucked yes? i dont have a digital hi def tv just a 26" akura.

Assuming you have an xbox 360 you may have the Hz rate set too high. Hz (pronounced Hertz), is how many times per second the picture flashes up onto your screen. Some DVD recorders only support 50hz. I think you've set yours to 60hz. The main problem with this is if you have a USA xbox you can't change this (its always at 50hz). Go to settings and change the hz rate to 50hz but you may not be able to play games like Halo 3 which only work at 60hz.

Actually after some research I've discovered you don't need to finalize DVD+RW discs(EVER). Some players may still need it but, it doesn't prevent u from editing/recording any more.

Your DVD recorder is probably old, there is always a delay between whats being showed and what is being recorded.

The only reason that you see black lines on his tv is because of the camera he is using to record it, it doesn't actually look like that. It is due to the camera recording at a different framerate than the framerate of the tv, and it makes it look like that.
