You should check out the BYOC Phaser! it sounds the same as a vintage MXR phase 90! I own both (original MXR) and the only difference is the BYOC has a second knob to make it more tweakable :)
Think I might order one today :) Ive found that handbuilt pedals sound better than brands such as Boss which are build with cheaper parts in a chinese factory!!!! I personally love foxrox and Brian Wampler pedals, go check them out :)
I got it and build it! and I'm disappointed!! did I do something wrong? the pedal sucks your tone :( I was using it after a Brian Wampler Ecstasy Drive is a very cool pedal :) and when I turn on the delay! the overall sound just changes! its like something just chooped off the clarity!! :( the repeats are fine!! they have an analog sound but its when you play your first note! its muddy already!! :(
A lot of your high end clarity will disappear after the first repeat. This is normal for the 2399 IC chips used. I built a delay using the same chip. The delays are fine, but the loss of high end turns me off.
Still a cool pedal for a home build. Didn't have a tone suck problem. You might double check the schematic with your build to make sure an incorrect part didn't get installed and check for cold solder joints and pots. They're bad about sucking tone as well.
Maybe you should check how the effect is in your chain, it ought to be at the end of anything, and preferably in an effects loop of some sort, if you don't have one.. get a Boss NS-2 and use it's effects loop, plus it gives you noise suppression!!
I want this video on my 8910 unit.

Maybe try actually playing instead of just hitting the strings.

The point of a pedal demonstration is hear what the pedal can do, not to hear someone dick around on the guitar.

This is total sex! I think I will order one.

Too bad it does not have a stereo output that could send the ping to one amp and the pong to another. That would be awesome.

@QbidMusicandMore that sucks.. any DIY kits that do? i'm looking for a delay and it's ESSENTIAL that i have "ping pong"

this is sounds like a space echo, it's astonishing and awesome

Hi,
I was wondering if the echo distort, since I can't really hear it over youtube.
I'm asking this cause I got a CMATMODS deeelay and it distorts my sound wich I don't really like.
Secondly, where did you buy it from?
Just want to make sure I get the same one.
Thanks
PS:Nice deme....tasty!!!

Im more about the Nano Small Stone
Relayer1968 3 years ago
I have the reissue Small Stone, I like the sound it makes :) I heard the Nano sounds abit different though?
Synthweasel 3 years ago
ya I like the nano, alot more ambient and more dreamy sounding, less harsh on the high end.
Relayer1968 3 years ago
well its kinda like comparing Pink Floyd and Van Halen, much different styles that need much different phasers.

I think I need to mess about with settings on other pedals, maybe put an Enhancer in there? my top end is suffering with the delay on

There is a mod for adding more highs to the ping pong delay. It's very easy to do. Info on how to do it is on the BYOC discussion forum.

my problem is not with the delays! its when I plug in the pedal! all my sound goes muddy completely! do you know what this could be??
Synthweasel 3 years ago
cold solder joints.

awesome demo Keith!
banjoted1980 4 years ago
So this new pedal will do everything the old delay pedal could do, and more, it seems.
If you stomp on the pedal to turn it off while it's still echoing, does the echo immediately stop, or will it run itself out?
matneyx 4 years ago
The echo immediately stops, in the default config (since it's true bypass).

Woah, when is this one gonna be available?
