The choreography of this routine has always bugged me. She does great gymnastics with wonderful form, but she's given choreography that in no way fits with the music. Ivana deserves better than that.
whats the point of making the new CoP more dance (leaps and spins) oriented if they r making the tumbling passes be landed with no lunges? or making the girls land in the center of the vault land mat?
i saw ivana at worlds today :) she messed up on bars - she was way past handstand before going into the tkachev, and she stopped half way through her full piroutte before going doing to the low bar, bent her knees and split her legs. then she landed the dismount on her knees :/ i think she'll make the beam final though, the routine was pretty solid, a little bit shaky on the turn and the dismount was a bit under rotated but it was the best of the day :)
its called "My sweet and tender beast" by Doha..Sasha Cohen used it in 2002 for her GORGEOUS short program (check out the 2002 olympic short prog on youtube..its GORG). BLR gymnast Galina Ivanets uses it now as well although its a different mix....
well I just figured that most people wouldnt know who Baraksonova was...(Gasp!) So i just made mention of someone who was currently using it. BUT I agree.....Baraksonovas was beautiful!
Why all the weird Nastia-like poses in such a beautiful, slow piece of music?! I think they need to look into using a variety of choreographers. This music has so much potential and Ivana just does a punch of poses that have little to nothing to do with the music.
Personally i miss her double front, but her pike full in is beautiful. I like all her events better now she's at WOGA except for her beam. It reminds me to much of Nastia's.
The reason she went to WOGA is because she think Valerie can make her a part on the 2012 team, as a nineteen year old, like Nastia. And i agree with her, he is capable, but thats only part of it, she got to up her talent all together as well
Yeah! If only they could give her better choreo...This gurl can dance but choppy moves, straight legs & arms and no synchro with the music won't make this program memorable.
The video is not properly synched with the audio. Plus, it's her first time performing this routine, so she's probably rushing/lagging on some of her movements. If you look at a better, properly synched recording, you can see where an arm sweep or a pose was half of a beat off.
she did great even with her last tumbling pass but for being out for 4 months as the people said thats is amazing! I saw my coach she was judging floor.:D
ive heard this music somewhere? anyway this was an aabsolutly beautful routine! i loved the ending! and she almost did that woga thing after the routine coming off the floor! haha
I love her. im so glad that she switched to woga its such a great gym for her. i hate gage they were just holding her back. go ivana hope u do amazing at nationals and worlds
hmm thats weird haha I completely disagree I think woga was one of the worst choices because it was kind of a big jump after being out for a time and getting older and maturing physicaly such a precise gym may upset her body
I agree, but she is probably not at full fitness after being out of training for so long! I would like to see her do: Full-in piked, double front, 2 1/2 punch layout and triple full!
Ivana's recovering from an injury and was supposedly only back to 80% health in this competition. A double front is not a pass would want to compete unless you're 100% healthy. You can easily land on your face.
Just watched Alexandra Croak's routine...while Baraksanova's is still my favorite, Alexandra did a nice job, too. And I think that Ivana's routine will look better after it's gained some mileage. : )
i'm kind of scared now for usa women gymnastic, with alicia and chelsie out of the picture ,nobody know if shawn is coming back ,nastia is not in a good shape ,ivana, sam and rebeca are not lokking that good
we didnt get to see rebecca that much because she had an injury in training. In the online webcast of this competition they were talking about how some of the " top dogs" wont be in their best shape yet.
I know... but I haven't found any video of Rebecca by the time I've posted questioning about her. Just did my question here because I know she and Ivana are teamates at WOGA.
Now I just found your video with Rebecca's UB. Thx
"It's a good idea to get rid of the step." I actually thought they did that like two codes ago. I don't know if it was suggested and retracted back then and now they are reinstating it or what.
i think ivana made a good move, but on another note, I get SO TIRED of seeing WOGA's cookie cutter floor routines - they all look the same! The choreographer is excellent no doubt but has no variety in her talents
i hope she goes to 2012..! and her odubel fornt was amazing but u only need one double sumersault run and her fucl in pike out covers that so.. maybe she doesnt need to do the double fornt cuz she covers her forward summersault by going 4wards with twists
It's a good idea to get rid of the step. It is more sporting for the athletes and more understandable to the audience. And no one "dances" out of a full in. Being able to step is a method of controlling non-perfect tumbling. It's a step.
I LOVE this new routine!! The music is really amazing! I just wish she still had her double front :( I wonder if there is any chance she's going to bring it back at nationals?

@Mantaproductions for extra protection when performing hard skills that they may not be used to!!!
