Very clear images of DL4 however can you notice the streaks, it does the same under extreme sunlight...somehow I don't mind...

that's typical, because the camera uses a CCD sensor...

CMOS sensors don't have that side effect... unfortunately they another issue called "rolling shutter" which is even worse...

yo, im thinking of buying this camera, can you tell me is it really worth the £500+ ? and how good are the pictures ? do you think it is worth it? i plan to take photo's aorund the world and i need one hell of a camera, i wont use a SLR but im told this is one of the bes tpoint & shoot ?

If you dont care of the brand, just take the panasonic lumix lx3.

It is the same camera, same lens, same manufacture. Panasonic is manufacturing this leica camera but it has a different label and comes with a better software. But if you just want to take pictures and good videos, buy the panasonic, because it'll do the same job!

exactly.. and forget the 3 yrs warranty for the Leica.. I myself prefer the LX3 due to the fact that it has a lot of accessories available. Too bad, i already got a GF1 as a Christmas present from my wife..

You can use all LX3 accessory on a D-LUX4 anyway, can't you? I just got the lens converter from Panasonic and it works just the same on my Leica.

Also, the software package coming with the Leica is a lot better. So its not like you're paying for the name only.

Man, you're tempting me to buy another camera =) D-LUX4 looks hotter than an LX3 anyday.. i didn't know that the DL4 has lens thread? anyhw, for now, my priorities are set on some m4/3 lenses.. particularly the Wide Angle 7-14mm. wonder if i could afford one of those Leica M lenses.. hmmm..
