And in one manuscript page with the patients escaping the lodge, it says that they had fought these shades before.
as soon as I heard this song at the end of episode 'truth', I went crazy mad...cause I heard the lyrics from the record player at the andersons house and thought 'you gotta be shittin me, POTF in the game? EPIC win!' and then when the episode ended, the song started...awesome Alan Wake, and even MORE awesome Poets of the Fall :D

@MrJoonasxD In the surreality that Bright Falls exists in, I think if you apply Inception-like logic of subverted realities to the story it is almost as if Thomas Zane wrote himself into a story about a character who writes himself into his own stories to alter reality. Particularly (if you step back and look at it) because Zane and the "darkness" are the only ones who alter the course of Alan Wake's progression through Bright Falls. A story within a story- inception, just food for thought.

According to the book (Which I have read more recently than playing the game) Thomas Zane wrote his poems first, then the Anderson Brothers came to the lake in the 70s after Diver's Isle sunk to the bottom. Alan came by in the early 2000s...Zane wrote at least part of Alan's reality when he created the Clicker and Alan's father being absent from his childhood...then wrote himself out of existence to try and rescue Barbara.

Ok, for all the people who have replied to my comment, you can order it from any book store or amazon. And the only difference between the game and the book are some small tweeks in the story like at the emd were he uses one flare from the flare gun on the darkness tornado, and there's an epolouge for what happened after he's says "it's not a lake, it's an ocean" at the end of the game

I loved this song in the game, and I loved the game,(Beat it in like three days because i liked it so much ) but i must say, just beating it today, after all of the darkness and story i was disappointed with the ending :(
