  • awww... I love TTWS :-) And you did this so song really amazing!

  • so its standard tuning?

  • @truewealth50 Drop D tuning

  • Nice job man. You have helped me learn this song. I've been watching live videos of Glenn Phillips, but the videos were grainy and I couldn't make out the chords.I think I'll be able to figure it out with your video though. Thank you.

  • @07Mrshayes Thanks very much!! I did the same to learn it.. I used about 3 diff vids of Glenn playing it to hash it all out..... the middle is a little muddled but... I think I was in the right places....

    I appreciate the comment!!

    Doug

  • i've watched this so many times. . . . gets me lost somewhere. .. .

    i love it. . . too much.

    . ..xx

  • I love that you dig this, because this is also my absolute favorite.

    Thank you Stephanie

    :)

  • I e-mailed Glen Phillips and he was nice enought to respond...

    Bridge:

capoed to the 2nd fret, it's forms like:

    Bm F# Em G

    Bm A Bb F Eb

    or something like that....

    g

  • No kiddin?? He plays it in different tuning live than the album version. Cool that he responded.

  • officially my hero now.

  • Beautiful, very well done! I am desperately trying to learn it on guitar as well. Got any tips? ^^ It is such a wonderful song.. : )

  • Thank you very much for the comment! Drop D tuning... I watched 2 different videos of Glenn Phillips playing it to find the hand positions, but that is the easy part. Took me a while to get the picking pattern down, but once I did it got smoother faster... Good luck, and let me know how it comes out for ya!!

  • Amazing. Really truly feel this in my heart. As a singer (who /owns/ a guitar... can't say I 'play' it), this is nice and inspiring for me. Thank you for your contribution.

  • Thank you very much! If I can help you out at all, let me know and I'll see what can be done.

    Much appreciated.

    Doug

  • nice.... great cover... the work paid off. the chords sound wide open and ring out. gives it a big flowing full sound. i'll be studying this one.. thanks for posting...

  • What are your bridge chords?

  • hmmm not a clue... I figured it out by ear...sry

  • Yo Doug. It's Ris :) Just subscribed to your page & I hope to keep in touch with ya here. Take care!

  • awesome guitar!!! what kind is it??? well done

  • god job.. always loved this song..

  • Thanks! Much appreciated.

  • hej very good;)

but what chords do you use

bye "pull on the borders to lighten the load, tell all teh passengers we are going home"

    you really would help me;)

  • Thank you! Not sure of the chords... the song is in drop D, and most of the chords there are barred...

  • This is my favorite song, please tab it out, id learn it in a night if you did.

  • If I ever get time to, I might, but I do not use tabs. I learned this by watching Glenn play it live... Glad you enjoyed it.

  • the top of the guitar is out of frame so it's hard to judge where your first fret is.

  • this is the best version on youtube!! U should make a tutorial video!!

  • Wow! Thanks Bro! I have been asked to try a tutorial... I'll consider it, and maybe even try one out to see if I can actually teach the rifs lol!!

    Appreciate your comment. Take care!

  • amazing;) sounds good, where do you have the tabs?, can i get them or the chords? greets from austria

  • WOW! Austria?? Well greets to you too!! I do not have the tabs unfortunately. I figured the song by watching a couple of different videos of Glenn (Toad's singer) playing it. I can tell you that it is in drop D tuning. Hope that helps. Take care!! Thanks for your comment!

  • wow, until now, i don't know who was Toad, now i know this beautiful song, thanks

    5 stars

  • Thank you very much... Toad was a wonderful band. Look them up and enjoy!

  • amazing!!! can I have the tab?

  • Thanks!! Well, I do not have it tabbed out... I figured it by watching a couple of different Glenn Phillip's videos... It is in drop D and hopefully you can figure it by watching my hands.

  • Amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing, Doug !! :-)

  • You ROOOOOCK Li!! ;)

  • I really enjoyed this. It is also my favorite Toad song and you did a great job. 5***

  • Thanks for your comment!! :)

  • Beautiful job! Do you have any hints on how to get the picking down on the main riff? I want to learn it.

  • Hey thanks for the comment!! Okay, to keep the picking moving along, strike your bass note on every 1 & 3 count, and the rest of the riff kind of just falls into place. Hope this helps you!!

  • Nicely done!

  • Okay, made it home, so the model is the Santa Fe ESF40C

  • Thank you very much!! It is part of the Santa Fe line of Takamines. I am not sure of the exact model #, but I will be happy to get it for you when I return home next week. Thanks for watching!!

  • whoa i like your voice......
