  • mine chases one to a corner and chases the other angelfish away help? should i get another one to be with the other angelfish i have 3 striped and they are like 2 inch tall

  • my angels don't do this and they spawn all the time. but i've seen angels do this so it all probably depends on the situation.

  • My Angel fish are about to lay eggs, Black and Grey/White is the Male. And I have a Yellow mix with Black and White. But the egss never survive because we have two tanks with different waters. All the cold waters are in one tank and the others in the other. The two Angelfish are with the clownfishes and albino's. But the babies never survive....They've tried over 15 times?

  • hey man.... its fighting make up sex... some couples do that you know. she was fighting for dominance ;) way to go girly, take the top position. XD

  • Uh oh, mine are starting to do that ...

  • lol guys..that's indeed a breeding pair showing mating behaviour....

i said it because, look at the filter behind the pair,it is already laid with eggs.....so cheers dude

  • that's NOT mating behaviour !!

that's 2 males (possible 2 females) fighting over dominance and territory

  • @PaNdeM0niuM the one on the left is a female. she is laying eggs. the one on the right is a male, he is fertilizing them. they are most definitely not fighting for territory...

  • @PaNdeM0niuM

The eggs were right behind them..

  • @PaNdeM0niuM wrong dude the uploader is right

  • the one on the right is a male most likly and the left is a female male are usaly bigger but not all the time

  • that is incredibly odd :| i have two breeding pairs in my tank, but they only attack the other pair. not their own partner (like in your video).

    nice video though

  • That's a nice Pair you have there,Could you tell me whta's your pH? and what temp? just want to have a idea..newbie here thanks..paul

  • hlolw old are they suppose 2be 2 lay eggs

  • awww..they're kissing

  • how do yu tell male from the female

  • @bl3ssup18

You can't until they begin breeding if you have 6 angel fishes you have a 90% chance of them mating you find the two fighting the rest off there usually ready for breeding.

  • sometimes ,an angelfish pair mating, shows aggressiveness...

  • Sorry ,I didn't read all ur comments looks like someone already called it.

  • From the video it kinda looks like you already have eggs on the power head behind them.Good look'n angels.

  • That's not mating behavior!!! That's fighting!!!

  • Oh, I left a comment on the other video but this is the same behavior my Angelfish show... So does that mean they're flirting or something? Gah, Angelfish are so confusing!

  • my angels have started this little fight off with one another too. how long will it take untill they pair off?

  • mine do that but there not cleening or laying eggs

  • lucky duck ican never find silvers i have a pure pink a tan and a smokey lepord

  • Comment removed

  • my angelfish fry just started swimming today, with the parents with them. i've kept the aquarium light on the hole time from when the fry were eggs to now. does anyone know if the parents will eat the fry if i turn the light off?

    thanks!!!!

  • no,i doubt it.not really sure tho.

  • is there a way to tell between two genders? I just bought two today!! hope they mate

    !

  • It's not like that, angels choose their partners and mate with them for life, the chances of getting a pair just by getting two angelfish is slim to nil.

  • i bought only two angelfish and they lay eggs :))

  • me 2

  • same haha

  • what behaviour do they show becos i boght two a cuple of days ago and they arnt doin anythin they are flirtin and spendin time togethr but not laying eggs pleese help

  • They are acting exactly as they're acting on this video. Don't worry it's too early for anything

  • if they avnt layed egs in a month dus that meen they never will

  • My angelfish lay eggs after six months or more

  • my pair has recently had 100 babys. now the fry is turning out to be halfblacks?

Why? i have a silver pair and got halfblack youngs? is this common or rare?

  • depends entirely what the original fish's parents looked like

  • the 100 babys parents where silvers. i dunno if they had a hidden gene.

the same thing with my gold marble. i just discovered is a pearl scale varity. lol XD

  • They probably do have a hidden ressesive or 'weak' gene. It is interesting that all of the fry appear to be half blacks. As a genetisist i would have expected perhaps half of them to imitate the parent fish.

  • yeah quite interesting.. the fry is growing very well :P they are incredibly hungry.

The parents will soon lay eggs again.

  • had a pair just like that, dominant one nearly killed the submisive, same size fish. dunno if they are a pair or not. could be a fight for turf.

  • doubt it...the whole laying eggs thing tells me it's probably mating behavior rather than territorial lol

  • @jayzarkara

The tubes are down. The female is on the left and the male is on the right.

  • Great looking pair!!! How big are they?

  • probably about 5-6 inches tall from fin to fin

  • what are the scientific names for your typeor angelfish?

  • the same as all common angelfish...which google tells me is pterophyllum scalare

  • @sfent4ca angel fish don't all share the same scientific name as there are many different type. for example i have and altum which is pterophylum altum. yours look like koi or marble angelfish which would be scalare, or a side species.

  • they're not mating there fighting my did the same thing and they didn't lay eggs with each other but instead the one they weren't fighting

  • there was eggs on the filter watch again dick my angel fish started doing that before they laid eggs to.

  • i just separated mine for doing that, then one of them layed eggs, so i was a bit annoyed with myself!

  • lol a little mistake. Next time leave them together :D:D

  • I'm really pleased, because a couple of days ago i realised that my other angels had laid eggs. They had already hatched when i found them. I didn't even know that my other two were a pair. :-)

Just hoping i can raise them now...theres about 80 of them!

  • wow lucky you. Recently i havent had much luck. only with my Ancistrus :D

    i have 30 small Ancistrus dolichopterus :D

  • Your pair are beautiful! have you had any of the fry live in the tank?

  • no, it's a community tank so unfortunately the eggs always get eaten shortly after they are laid and i don't have the time or resources to raise them properly!

  • Ahh, I wish I lived close...lol I'd raise them for you!

  • well look at the bright side you dont need to feed them that much

  • my brothers angelfish do the same exact thing will they have babies???

  • they may lay eggs but they just get eaten if you have other fish in the tank like i do

  • how big is ur tank

  • 55 gallons

  • i hope you dont think im a beginner because i have owned fish most of my life but never had any mate.

  • i have angels 2 and they also bite eachother like that.I thaught that they were fighting.please send a messege back to me when your angels spawn so that i know if mine are mating pairs or not.:)
