To get some things straight, battle of Thermopylles is a historical fact, NOT the way is shown on the movie, f.e. the monsters in the movie beggining which Leonidas asks permission for war and the oracle decides not to etc etc, they were in real just some elders of sparta, NORMAL persons who was religious or smthing. 2nd Efialtes was not a monster too, he was a regular guy, spartan who loved money and betrayed his country for some gold... The battle and the detailes of it are not verry historic though because it was a spoken tradition for hundreds of years and scribes didnt write it dow for a ong period of time. Many historical writings wrote about Thermopolae but some didnt spesifically write about it. Such as the Bible, Xerxes in the bible told of his plan to invade the Spartan "country" in the book of Ester.

Hello people. Let me get your facts straight. They did, in fact, use blue screen to film and edit the movie. And there was a battle between Sparta and Persia.. ( and other ancient countries) And at the beggining of the war, there was a battle between 300 Spartan Men and 10 thousand - 1 million Persian worriors. And the leader of the Spartans was indeed a king named Leonidas. The fictional part of the 300 movie was all the mutated creatures.
