From 0:13 to 0:16 what scale is that it sounds a little different than basic Pentatonic This is the One Randy Rhoads Rips up just like you just did. would you mind tabbing out that scale for me lol ?

Also From 0:36 0:43 ... Btw I really would like to have a GMw polkadot V and I heard that guy is easy to talk to .From Start to Finish.

How is the playability on this? Is it pretty easy to play? I am praying when I get mine (not GMW) it has the playability of a Jackson Rhoads Performer, which I also own. My Gibson Les Paul Studio is a bit harder to play yet a Les Paul Custom plays like a dream, go figure.

The GMW model usually has a floyd rose. This version is actually closer to the Karl Sandoval V, which is good.

Sandoval is the original builder of the Rhoads guitar. I have never played one so i couldn't tell you what the differences are.

I can tell you here that the Sandoval is the best guitar you will ever play, I have one. I bought it mainly for looks thinking it wasn't good for Blues but man when I played it, it seemed to be good for everything!

I own a danelectro and that is same neck the was used on Randy's original so really if you have played a denelectro then basically you've played a sandavol

@rclegg the main difference lies in the neck to body joint, and the neck itself.

the necks Sandoval used were old Danelectro necks, which didn't have an adjustable truss rod. Instead, they had a sturdy, heavy "I"beam running down the length. Non-adjustable, but still sturdy none-the-less.

Also, the tenon that attached the neck to the body was very long, extending deep into the body, but not all the way through, like a neck-thru construction.

Other than that, the 2 guitars are very similar.

@rowag001 yeah but its made by KARL SANDOVAL. ;) To the original specs by the original guy who will actually tell you all the first hand Randy stories, (and EVH for that matter), while you talk about buying a gutiar. Actually its around $7000 but you are paying the extra $4,600 to get the genuine article. I think thats fair. But you cant blame people for wanting something that resembles something their hero played. I can vouch for Karl though. He is an awesome guy who does great work.

Did you find yours took time to get used to playing comfortably?

I have a ebony fretboard on mine with 22 frets and it is one of the nicest, smoothest playing necks ever, but I find the first frets seem such a reach away, not comfortable so far.

Hope I can get used to it.

GMW is cheapier, and Zakk Wylde ordered his Polka Dot V from GMW... And he is still having a lot of $... Why he ordered from GMW? Because Karl Sandoval overprices the guitars over the top, while GMW makes awesome replicas for a normal wallet...

I think Lee at GMW actually has a proper agreement with Karl Sandoval to make these and makes them exactly the same as Karls.

Karl stopped building for quite some time, that is how this agreement came about.

I have one of these and the attention to detail is amazing. Things like the bow tie inlays not being an even with and the rear covers not being recessed, all because that is how Randy's was.

If you want a true Replica of Randy's PDV, GMW do it, with Karls permission.

it is crap. i know a few guys who purchased it because they didn't have enogh cash for the real deal brands. the dots were wrong, the pickups were'nt the same as randy's, the paint quality was'nt as good, cheap hardware was used. you get what you pay for, you know?

The sound and build of the amp is awesome. This one is the 30 watt version. I used some dirt from the overdrive ch mixed with a custom shop wylde OD. It takes pedals very well. And the clean I enjoy alot. Many variations in tone on both Channels. Its is loud, you need to turn it up to appreciate the boutique sound. Keep me posted if you get one. You can read the reviews on Harmony-Central also. Hope this helps.

the action on this guitar is set low, the size of the neck is 25 1/2" scale, 6150 medium jumbo fretwire, and a bone nut and a 1 5/8" wide nut width. hope that helps. ive been planning to purchase this guitar, so i know all of the specs.
