@pinksnowxoxo I think this song means that there is a difference between independence and closed off. She allowed herself to be so convinced that she didn't need love and that it was utterly pointless. But then she meet someone and realized what she was doing before wasn't living and just a defensive tactic to never get hurt. She realized that it is important to let love in if she wanted a full life.
