@MrAyen24 Assuming u have exactly the same effect, rest easy, your screen is ok. External monitor working fine? If no, it's the GPU. Could be replaced or baked, search youtube. If yes, it's the screen inverter, easy to replace. U might even be lucky and the inverter has shortcircuited. How to tell? Remove your screen (not the inverter), connect another laptop screen to your laptop and boot, then your own screen back and see if it works. That's how I fixed mine after I dropped it on the floor.
Mine is doing the same thing except mine starts up white & fades to black then starts up but can't see anything. Ctrl Alt Delete sometimes works but not always! I NEED HELP!!!!
READ PLZ ----> I have that very same laptop my screen doesn't work so i bought a monitor and it works fine but not i have another problem with the laptop... It turns off when i watch online videos wtf is going on i watch a video for 5 mins and it suddenly turns off...I NEED HELP what am i supposed to do? It can be on for hours but when i watch a video it suddenly turns off with no warnings the screen just turns black.
@millapepe Itz either your power settings or you might need a New video card. 1st adjust your power settings the problem might be that your Pc screens just set up to sleep at exactly 5 minutes. any more questions just ask me.
Well my Laptop had the same problem as the 1 in this video so i use my Laptop with an HD monitior i just got.... Yea my Laptop shutsdown ONLY when i watch videos and when im chatting with a web cam, its getting really really annoying but i dnt have money to buy a new one at the moment im hoping there is a way to fix these problems
toshiba laptop i meant, much more reliable, I fix these for a living, I wouldnt buy an HP , ever. I spent majority of my life replacing mainboards in them. These and the DV6000s are the main culprits. But their evil cousins the Presario Compaq series are actually the same boards but de-featured, and also suffer from similar problems.
Yea, mainboard GPU had it, you can try & temp fix the board but waste of time, doesnt last, this whole series is bad news, undercooled & the video chipset lifts from the PCB, hence why HP glues them down now in each corner of the chip :p. Id cut my loss and run with a new Toshiba board, the replacement boards for these are 700-900 dollars upward.
something probley put too much pressure on the screen like when u touch the screen it like deforms, thats probley what happened to it but to the whole screen
I've the same damn issue and the same damn laptop. I've gone to 4 assistance in my cities, and know, I'm sure that it's gone the graphic card. But, on the laptops graphic card are incorporatd in the motherborda, so should change the mother bard. Mther board costs 400 € (in Italy) and more, but, the HP sells at 500€. It's a very hard work (laptop's components are mounted like tetris' froms!) I payed it 649€
You guys are wrong wrong wrong. Try this. Before booting up, just lift the lid enough to be able to push the power button. Leave the lid that way and see if you get video. Im told the small cable going into the display is shoting out. Try it before you take any info about your video being toast or just buy a new one crap!
Mine just started doing this an hour - went to a private lesson, came back and the screen wouldn't unblacken, all the quick launch buttons were on, restarted manually and then did this! Sucks, hope your warranty covers it, mine looks like it will.
best describtion ever well done! but its a serious problem and pain in the ass what happened is your gpu has burned from overheating coze these laptops are not for high end gaming, didnt u notice how loud the fan? how hot it go? well all u need now is a new motherboard or better a new laptop and I think you realised by now "not an hp laptop"
Hp's have a cooling issue & if you push it too hard it melts. You are the 7th person ive seen whos had this issue. You most likely burned your graphics card. I got one of my friends working for 2 hours after fiddling with the inside. My advice for you is to never ever buy an HP ever again. they are the worst possible laptops on the market. Even though dolphin is a demanding program it shouldnt cause the computer to melt unless the cooling sucks. This is the case with yours. no offense.
Yeah.. Seeing you played SSBM and it just went to shits i think you killed your graphics card. Did it automaticly die or were you able to play for a little while? If you were able to play for a little while you probably overheated your graphics card or something and it broke.
It looks like a monitor issue, but I can't be sure.
If you can boot into the BIOS or some other DOS prompt thing (Google how to do that), then it's a problem with Windows. Your screen is fine.
If you can't get into that, try plugging it into an external monitor. If you can see your computer on the external, they it's a problem with your laptop's screen.
If your screen is screwed up, there's not much you can do other than repair it.
If not, you might have to reinstall your OS or something.

I have the exact same problem, for the second time now.
First time, it got solved by hp and it was still in warranty. They said they had to replace the mobo.
Now, 1 year and 3 months later, the same thing happens! Have you had any luck repairing your laptop?
