  • Bamboo!!

  • 1:20 funny

  • 4:53.. is that an ipod in his ear? o_O

  • @Cypher791

Yes. It's an iPod in the 1970's.

  • @ThatHauntFreak2 i hope my irony wasnt lost on you? o_O

  • @Cypher791

Kinda hard to tell if you're serious or not via a YouTube comment, ain't it?

  • LMAO...I got my sense of humor from the Carol Burnett Show and Mama's Family. I grew up watching them, every episode. They don't make shows like this anymore.

  • ummmm I believe that is exactly what I have been saying! You don't have to be an actor to see or notice the difference. All i was pointing out is how I felt Carol was more natural....that's it! Simple.I think that you are the one failing to read and understand and that could be a problem for and "actor". No biggie...just get over it.

  • @lucyvanpelt01 I happen to have worked with Burnett and she once told me that she would love to be in the ranks with Ball...case closed.....

  • Why aren't there any shows like this any more? I'm 20 and love this stuff!

  • "Youre just awful"..lololol

  • @MPL029 i love that part!

  • Lucille Ball and Carol Burnett were both comic geniuses and they were huge fans of each other. Lucy inspired Carol in many ways and Lucy loved Carol's work. i think they are both queens of comedy and there is no reason to try to analyze who surpassed who. good comedy is good comedy, period.

  • These are my favorite ones!

  • Such wonderful memories.

  • Carol surpassed Lucy.

  • @lucyvanpelt01 They were both brilliant. Lucy just lived in a time that limited her talents.

  • @MPL029

nope...just natural! Carol's humor is just natural where as Lucy acted....they are both great, but there is a difference and sorry you can't understand that.

  • @lucyvanpelt01 I never said they were the same. they are absolutley different hence why you cant really say one is better than the other. Its like comparing an apple and a pineapple...both are fruits but both are entirely different. I hope you can understand that!!

  • @MPL029

    ughhhhh...again ignorance......think before you speak.

  • @lucyvanpelt01 I undertstood your point but you cant see anyone elses. Its like watching the oscars and saying one actor is better than another when they are doing 2 completely different styles. Im an actor and I can tell you that there are many different styles to comedy..you clearly dont see that. would you compare Chaplin to Keaton? Different styles ...Ball and Burnett...both brilliant in what they did..but DIFFERENT!

  • i used to love the 'mamas family' stuff carol burnett did.

i also used to watch 'mamas family' the sitcom when it spun off from the carol burnett show. the best part of carol burnett is when they would crack up.

  • Vickie Lawrence as mama=FTW

  • This was such a great, funny show....why can't they make shows like this again :(

  • @renee2060 Because the writers and so-called "actors" can only do cheap sex skits.

  • The sketches on Carol Burnett were much better than the eventual sitcom this was based on, despite Lawrence's performance. Without Eunice, Momma was just not as funny. Their conflict drove the comedy.

  • @TheLastBrainLeft i found the sitcom to be funny, but I see what you mean it was more fun when Eunice was in episodes, but the sitcom did run for a good 8 years so I think it did pretty good

  • Mama: Oh, it's another of them damn signals !

  • I love at 6:18...""youre just awful"!..lol

  • These old comedy shows are a hoot to have a good laugh to.

  • People are complaining how poor TV is today, and I will agree, yet no complaints how this show is basically being held hostage as far as home video. $10 per episode? Trying sell the product of only 18 episodes for $179.99? Come on. Is Carol so poorly off as that? Let's get the seasons out there for a reasonable price shall we?

  • please mama family episode back on

  • xDDD "Annnd they're off" -Mama just stands there before saying: "I can't read this" I nearly peed my pants xD It's so amazing that Mama's Family came from the Carol Burnett Show!

  • "come on, come on brain, bubble bubble bubble." LOVE that line from carol!

  • im only fifteen and i watch this all the time on youtube and tv now days sucks!! i never watch tv anymore cuz everything on tv sucks!

  • I wish they would bring this back on television.

  • LOVE THIS Carol Burnett AND VICKI LAWSON IS OFF THE HOCK COMDY DIAVA ON TV:)

  • BAM-BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

  • is Eunice bi-polar because one minute she is happy the next minute shes screaming at mama

  • @sharializevanescence i think shes does that purposely to make the audience laugh

  • @mstiffytaffy1 o know that but,its really funny

  • @sharializevanescence yea it is funny it makes the skits more interesting and more funny

  • Lord, that awful turquoise fridge--they shoud've gotten rid of that thing.

  • I'm 45, so I enjoyed this every evening at 6:00 like clockwork and I was watching some of these and my 21 and 22 year old were laughin their butts off, I realized that they were kind of robbed of good, clean, fun. Their generation has alot of stuff thats funny, but, to be funny without being out and out, dirty or rude, or sexually explicit is uncommon nowadays. This stuff is timeless.

  • Classic, Classic stuff!

Carol Burnette was the queen of 70's "live/stage" comedy. They were really a great foursome!!

  • Lol, Enuis was like "Mama, don't be such a gooney-duck!" Who says that anymore?

I would have been like, "Sure, anything for you Enuis!". Mama was always a grouch, but that's what made her character so intriguing and funny.

  • ......back when TVLand had programming worth viewing,

  • this show, the dean martin show and roasts, best decade for comedy by far...sid ceasar, red skelton, the honeymooners, kids today, no womder they are so screwed up....they dont know how to laugh...we were screwed up because we liked to laugh to much!

  • Perfect!!!

  • I'd kill for the blue fridge.

  • No fridge is worth killing for...lol @zamusicza

  • @zamusicza me too

  • Bamboo, bamboo......lol

  • vicky is so pretty

  • Under the Bamboo Tree is an old song. I think Ginger Rogers sand it in one

of her movies w/ Fred. Or was it Judy. Well, some musical.

Used to play charades back in college. No expensive equipment

    required. Just pen and paper.

    Tanks 4 posting, Tab.

  • @rockgor i cant belive she told her mama to shutup.

  • tim conway sure was dumb that was not an act

  • Love eunices shoes!!

  • The Official Second Season of The Lucy Show is being released on DVD July 13, 2010 and is avialable for pre-order on amazon!

  • supplemental hardware guide LOL, I think Ed and Micky hart had a thing going on !I love when Eunice loses it with mama over the signals!

  • @centurion1479 I agree...ed and Mickey ..had a thing...closeted.

  • pepole in the south dont act like this

  • @mlb8761 jesus christ, come to my house and you'll see ed, eunice, and mama holding court on a daily basis. rural louisiana is a hoot :)

  • lol.very funny then

  • No not now but this is based on a stereotype in the 60s

  • @mlb8761 um...yes we do. Eunice is just like my aunt.

  • long live carol burnett. she was and still the greatest. when i am sad i come here thank u for sharing.

  • This is one of my favorites; I keep coming back over & over!

  • Oh my God what memories this brings! HA, Ha!!

  • Totally!! The good old days.

I use to live for these shows as a kid.

  • The best part about these shows is that no matter how they try not to laugh, they just sometimes can't help it. That makes me laugh even more. LMAO!!!!

  • @glori9455

I know its like when they laugh we laugh

  • It ran from 1967 till 1978. They started doing the "Family" skits in 1974 I believe.

  • MAMA!

  • How many seasons did this go?

  • 11 years it ran.... R.I.P HARVEY KORMAN 1927 -2008

  • @crackermoves But for some reason they NEVER show the 11th season, I remember episodes from the 11th season when I was little in the 80s but they never show that season, I WISH i could find it!

  • luv luv luv Carol's screech lol DVD's not available here in South Africa so... thank you so much for your postings!!!

  • "........especially when they're playing with a dumb cluck like her". haha

  • MY FAVORITE ONE!!!

  • i love this show

  • THIS IS COMEDY!

  • it was sadly it isnt anymore but it Mama kept you in stitiches

  • "Mama, will you shut up?!" LOL!!! :-)

  • LOL CHARADES

  • Lol! Listen to how he says, "Oh, fine, then we'll play charades!" LMFAO!

Some of the best TV writing ever! Carol, Vicki, Tim, and Harvey, you all ROCK!

  • Thanks so much for posting these! I adore the Carol Burnett show! Yes, THIS is comedy. Watching these on youtube is great -it beats paying for the overpriced DVDs (even though I do own a few).

  • i really do love all these videos. when i need a laugh or 2 i come here to all of them. i was just kidding about ED shooting Eunice, kind of lol.

  • I love how Ed said "alright then, we'll play charades!"

  • but then we'd be without these classic displays of entertainment!! :)

  • vicki is pure genus as Mama!

  • i got to get me a beer

  • We need more comedians like Carol, everything she does is funny!!!

  • I wish we got more of it loved it

  • i love carol burnett!

  • Mickey and Ed are lovers ... I'm convinced.

  • proably Eunice proably hasnt given Ed any for years

  • I know carol burnett thru oprah show, when she was one of the guest together with jim carey.

  • "I'm gonna use words if he's too dumb to understand my signals."

  • I'm so glad my parents showed me Carol Burnett when I was younger... it never fails to make me laugh until I cry. Thanks for uploading these skits. :)

  • Hilarious!

  • You know,, I loved Lucy , watched every episode at least a dozen times, she still has a place in my heart,,, I've chuckled at Friends and Married with Childern,,,but Carol Burnett,,,Man she can still make me laugh till I cry,,,Damn shes GOOD....And just like wine it gets sweeter with time,,,and in these days of prefabricated soft and safe, sterilized sitcom stagnate humor,we should all sit down watch some Carol Burnett to remind us of what made Television Truly Funny in the first place.....

  • @4334surf Married with children was the best

  • @4334surf Carol is the only one that ever matched Lucille Ball in terms of physical comedy.

  • Man, what an awesome skit! Thanks for posting.

  • This is such classic stuff, yet still so fresh after all these years. It also vividly shows just shows how crummy today's supposed comedy shows are. You can't beat these actors and these skits.

  • i was thinking the same thing!

and Sat. nights were great for TV

    what happened!!!!?!?!?!?

  • they don't make funny ladiers like that anynore

  • You are so right! Today all you see is plastic bimbos.

  • and toliet humor

  • What does Eunice say at 3:20?

  • She says "we'll give 'em a gift"

  • best scene ever

  • Mama's facial expressions are classic!

  • i know

  • I love Carol Burnett!!!!! She is one of my favorite actress. I grew up watching her show. I've always wanted to meet her. I had to beg my mother to let me stay up and watch the show because on Saturday nights my father made us go to be early to get rest for Sunday. My father was a preacher. Love you Carol!!!!!

  • When I was a kid, I wrote a few letters to Carol, and she answered each individually with specific answers to my letter. I still have them. The stationery was really cool, with embossed lips...lol.

  • If I do the right things in this incarnation, maybe the next one might be funny like this.

  • Why did the Mama character suddenly become nice and sweet in the Mama's Family series? It just wasn't the same.

  • They were all brilliantly inspired in the Mamas Family sketches. Just blows my mind. I grew up in Texas and my family and every family I knew had moments and scenes exactly like this....

  • gloomy gos, grandma used to say that all the time and also the early eighties afternoons after school mamas family then alice after that welcome back kotter and then there was maude , in the late eighties had the golden girls and miami vice on Fris

  • its like he's rockin an ipod. lol

  • "You got all that mama" Mama shakes her head yes as she says "No" Classic.

  • Viki always looked so mean. <:-X

And Tim always looked so sad. <:*-(

  • Harvey is awesome, sad day when he died. No comedians like these guys anymore...its all ending.

  • you are so right, Don Rickles is about the last of the great ones.

  • RIP Harvey Korman

  • RIP Mr. Harvey Korman, we'll miss you!

  • Harvey Korman was a wonderful actor and comedian. He will be greatly missed.

  • This is what's called "firing on all cylinders."

    Brilliant concept.

    Brilliant acting.

    Brilliant characters.

    Brilliant dialogue.

    Brilliant ad libs.

I've long-since cancelled my cable TV because there was nothing on 100+ channels that could ever match the quality and care that went into things like this.

  • how can this have any less than 5 stars?

  • I love this...

  • This is one of the best...still it's been cut a little bit from the original.

I wonder how much improv they did...hard to believe this was all scripted. Brilliant.

  • can sumone put up one where dick van dyke was in it?

  • omigawd i luv this! its sad what ppl call entertainment today. I'm almost 14 and i grew uo watching this and i love lucy and the andy griffith show. sad how they dont show these great shows anymore.

  • Is "Supplemental Hardware Guide" still in print? :)

  • I don't think that book exists.

  • Love Mama's dead-pan reactions to Eunice!!! The whole cast was perfection.

    Classic! Better than anything today!

  • yes i am a child of the 80's and this show was on in reruns at that time. we used to watch it all the time, and i remember the evening tv schedule was the muppet show followed by carol burrnet, if i am correct. brilliant character actors.
