Have you thought about maybe a three wheel bike or something,you can travel about the same speed and you can pull your wagon as well.

The Adventure continues..Theres a guy name Dave here on You Tube who rode his bike cross country . His youtube name is threewheeljourney. he rode from the state of Washington to key west .and back it was great. Maybe a bicycle would be easier than a horse, and less maintenance
