i thought this car was really fast all the fucking hype on it. Audi R8 5.2L HP:525 hp @ 8000 rpm Torque:391 lb-ft. @ 6500 RPM 0-60:3.7 sec. you get that for $149,000 Corvette ZR1 6.2L V8 HP:638 hp @ 6500 rpm Torque:604 lb-ft @ 3800 rpm 0-to-60:3.4 seconds you get this for $111,000 AND THE 4.2 R8 IS SLOW THAT ALL THE CHEAP CORVETTES!!!

I think audi should replace the r-tronic in the R8 with the new DSG dual clutch from the Audi RS5. I think that 7-speed DSG s-tronic gearbox would be much better than the clunky r-tronic. With the DSG, the audi R8 would be unstoppable.
the "automatized" transmission in R8 is almost like Fiat dualogic, vw i-motion or chevrolet easytronic... it's a manual but there are "robotic arms" operating it... nothing to compare with the DSG, which in my opinion is the best transmission ever.

I'm pretty sure Audi made the R-tronic automatically shift into neutral after a while at a stop because when you have that thing in gear, the clutch starts getting hotter and hotter, so it has to be in neutral during a stop. Same thing with DSG, VW says shift into neutral if you're at a stop for a long period of time to keep the clutches from overheating. If you're going to complain about that, at least put some research into it Autoline. That's quite unprofessional.

driven both and the only good thing about he r tronic is the blip of the throttle when you downshift which can easily be done with a manual. So yet again, pointless

I'm pretty sure Audi made the R-tronic automatically shift into neutral after a while at a stop because when you have that thing in gear, the clutch starts getting hotter and hotter, so it has to be in neutral during a stop. Same thing with DSG, VW says shift into neutral if you're at a stop for a long period of time to keep the clutches from overheating. If you're going to complain about that, at least put some research into it Autoline. That's quite unprofessional.

what is this guy talking about, it should be shifted into neutral whenever the car comes to a stop. the car is essentially a manual, but without a clutch pedal. when driving a manual, you don't sit at the light for 2 minutes in-gear with the clutch pressed in because you'll burn your clutch. you'll shift it into neutral, and the same applies here.

i wouldnt want half the people i see on the road driving stick, ( i live in Massachusetts and i guess we are notoriously bad drivers) but like i said some people cant even stay on the road let alone control their cars gears

the r tronic gearbox isnt good for slow driving or traffic driving.The R tronic never was and never will be the best gearbox the manual transmision is the best.
