@msnewsenior LOOK. I've listened to Live Through This .. the entire album, DOZENS of times. Trust me, it doesn't sound the same, the song we're talking about and it's alternate version. I would know. I saw them at Lolla in '95 and many times thereafter and was listening to that cd when you were fresh out of your fucking pullups, ok? And your page is a farce. You're trying too damn hard honey. And ps I have Live through this on CD and vinyl and the official authorized tab book as I am a guitarist that is prepping to play some of their songs, so Im pretty sure I've heard it just as much too. Doesnt matter how old I am Courtney Love never limited her music to any race, religoion or age group its for everyone!

This song is actually "Olympia" (in reference to Olympia, Washington). To clarify, a song named "Rock Star" was removed from the final track listing and was replaced with "Olympia", but the artwork had already been printed.

No, they aren't the same song.

That song is the original "Olympia". The release of the album with the song was one week after Courtney's husband Kurt Cobain committed suicide and "Rockstar" contains the phrase "How'd you like to be Nirvana (his band)? Say you'd rather die". In the last minte they put Olympia instead of Rockstar on the album but the covers were already printed. So Olympia was called Rockstar.

Look to the right and listen to a Rockstar Original video.
