  • Reporting excellently on Mill, Reeves does a very good job of pointing out why the tenets of Liberalism are essential to a 'free society' and in celebrating the genius that Mill was. His mention that even in his time Mill was already a bit behind the times makes one question the applicability of the principles today seeing as the vocabulary of the 21st century is at this point quite unlike that of the 19th. I also agree with the last questioner. Mill is a Utilitarian, a Humanist Utilitarian.

  • arguable that you can be both liberal and utilitarian mill argues that it is the individual experiments of living that helps to bring society forward as a whole
