  • As a Christian, I headcover out of modesty. I don't believe that it's required of Christians, I just prefer to do it because it's much more modest than not wearing any head covering.

  • honestly while i think that Christian women don't have to cover their heads (but if God puts it in their heart to wear a hijab type thing then bless God because He has done with me) i think that women should dress modestly to not be a stumbling block for our Christian brothers and cause them to lust for us but we can still look cute, we dont have to look frumpy but we dont have to look like a streetwalker either. I love my Christian family out there.! <3

  • "Proud of yourself" for doing your hair a certain way? Am I being nitpicky, or is that missing the point somewhat...?

  • People can look at whomever they wish. This is just ridiculous. Sex is normal and I'd rather come to terms with the fact that there are good looking people in the world and you can see them, than lie to myself and act as if they are invisible. People shouldn't put controversial videos on youtube if they aren't looking for arguments from the other side of the fence.

  • all women should be forced to dress modestly in america according to christian tenets. the skirt should never rise above the knee and clothes should never be form fitting. it would be so much easier to prevent vice if we were allowed to keep our naiive other-halves in line by being able to hit them occasionally. i propose a committee for the propagation of virtue and the prevention of vice. praise christ.

  • @hailsatan666abortion lol I was about to hate comment you then I saw your screen name.

  • To be modest is to be viewed as a person and it shows that you have respect for yourself as well. If you don't respect yourself, then how will others respect you? If you dress provactively, then people will view you as an object to obsess over, not as a person.

  • Modesty is about not flaunting yourself, not being boastful. That is what modesty means to me. I show some cleavage, some leg, some skin, but not all - never all. That is bragging, becasue God gave me a beautiful body. This medieval sexism coming from the mouth of one of my own sisters disgusts me. Skirts 90% of the time? Wow. I love my pants, my boyfriend's boxers, my men's business shirts... And God still loves me. Modesty is different for every person.

  • you've totally lost me when you said you've studied Islam to see what that religion has to say on covering, why should you let that be an influence to you as a christian?

  • Plus modesty is really more about what's in the heart than in attitre.

  • I admire your conviction in wearing headcovering all the time. I know for me it's not practical so I only cover at church and at home in prayer. I'm still new to Orthodoxy and it seems your view isn't the universal one of the Orthodox Church. I recently went to vespers at a Greek Orthodox cathedral and none of the women were covered. Yet at my church about 2/3 of women wear headcoverings....

  • A pity you hide yourself so completely. It would have been nice to see you.

  • A pity you hide yourself so completely. It would have been nice to see you

  • i think its beautiful when woman cover their heads and wear appropriate clothes when the woman is truly pure inside and out. there are some who just hide behind appropriate clothes but inwardy they are rotten. like the muslim woman for example they cover up but they fallow a pedophile who killed millions of people in the name of god do you think those woman are pure?

  • @denise90ish1 Very ignorant statement on your part when you claim " the muslim woman for example they cover up but they follow a pedophile who killed millions" as a nonmuslim i find it very pathetic of you to judge without actually researching the real age of Aisha who was 20 yrs old when she married the Prophet of Islam. Also when you claim "millions of people" what kind of drug are you smoking ? Where did he kill millions of people? Go do some research. Practcing muslim women are very pure

  • "Defining" modesty? My friends, God's Word is absolute. We, the created, do not define "right" and "wrong", contrary to the tenets of our regrettably-postmodern culture.

We need hard-hitting truth, like I just presented, not lies, lies, and more lies, from Rick Warren, Joel Osteen, Billy Graham, Joyce Meyer, John Hagee, etc..

  • Cover your Head and you don't have the right to speak publicly to Christians as commanded by the Bible!..God Bless

Follow your instinct? Do the Opposite? Is that Scriptural? NO!!!!

  • How modestly does your husband dress?

  • Very nice vid.. Thanks for sharing your thoughts..

  • It is nice to have found your channel here. I also read your blog.

  • your hair is your covering did God cover eve's hair after the fall no a vail is man made and man required if the woman has hair to cover her head

  • Comment removed

  • 1Cr 11:15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for [her] hair is given her for a covering.

1Cr 11:16 But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.

These God breath verses explain it all.

  • @eltiempoescorto1 My thoughts exactly, the head covering thing, biblically speaking, is irrelevant -- that's why a woman has long hair or more precisely, should not shave her head. I'm still looking for a video with a Biblical, balanced view of modesty.

  • I noticed you said you kick back and watch sports games? Aren't there alot of commercials of scantily clad women in sports games? And if so, should your husband be watching them and should you be condoning it?

  • I have been thinking about the same thing. The best way to get a man to respect you is to dress modestly.

  • I can't really understand why women would believe in the bible, women are the biggest antagonist in the bible, they were made up of a rib, they were created to serve men (which unlike women was created in God's image), women took men into sining! the bible is completely chauvinist! And the concept of God?! It's ridiculous... It's ridiculous why would somebody would believe all those ridiculous inconsistencies and absurd beliefs!

  • How funny..I just saw this same comment on another video. copying and pasting all round youtube?? please, if you do not have something good to say, dont say nothing at all.

  • wake up

  • I'm sorry if truth hurts

  • So why are you going about posting your views? Depart my friend. You don't even understand the Bible, how would you understand any thing it says!

  • You don't know the truth but you are preaching. If you preach anything but the truth, you preach a lie.

Seek the truth, abide in it and be free.

  • James 3:6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.

  • This scripture is truly God breathed. It is an admonition to Christians.

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

People disagree with the Bible and Christians yet they go about roaming Christian channels and websites seeking whom they may devour with their words and deeds.

"Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice" Jesus Christ.

  • @kwazyb Knowing the truth is absolutely impossible. No one knows and yet everyone preaches. Bible scriptures aren't proof of anything because the bible is not proven to be truth. BELIEVE as you wish but the truth in religion is unknowable.

  • @msKCleigh It is knowable, though in the sense of personal knowledge of another. There seems little point 'proving' by rational argument, the truth of God as believed by Christians, but one must come to know God for oneself.

It ought not to be hard, as the works of God are made manifest in creation, so we are without excuse (Romans 1:19-20). Can one look at the beauty and awesomeness of creation and think the whole thing is so purely by chance? Or is it the work of the Creator?

  • @thelyniezian I believe in God but your bible verses really don't mean anything to people who don't. I'm just saying that the truth is impossible to know. I believe in God, I probably don't believe everything you do. Life isn't rational. Who is to say that what you believe is the absolute truth? Who is to say that Christians, Jews, Muslims, Atheists or any other believers or non believers are completely wrong or completely right. Honestly, I don't think anyone has it exactly right.

  • @thelyniezian I guess we will know when we die, or not. I just won't begin to tell people how to live according to faith, when no one knows.

  • @msKCleigh You still assunme that "no-one knows". Some people *do* know. They are relating what they know, by their experiences. And some of those experiences should leave little doubt as to the reality of God in their lives.

  • @thelyniezian I'm not assuming anything. It is impossible to know 100%. Regardless of what you say, it is impossible.

  • @msKCleigh How do you know that it is impossible to know?

  • @thelyniezian Because there aren't any 100% proofs. There are no guarantees...only thousands of beliefs. Beliefs aren't always truths.

  • And since you admitted YOU don't know, you have no right to tell me it doesn't have the answer.

  • @NSequeira Nicely said. I agree completely.

  • so my plan of skimpy girl scout costume for halloween is out?

  • I just found your channel and sub.

We need more godly women in the USA.

  • Just so people know...Romans 8 verse 1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in in Christ Jesus who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit .

So many people quote this verse with only the beginning, but if you are walking after the flesh, which is how God defines it, not yourself...you have condemnation. It is by GRACE that we are saved...the Grace of God teaches us to say no to sin and the flesh. Grace is an enabling power to walk in holiness and righteousness.

  • She doesn't bore me. I also am a full time covering Christian...and I can tell you it is very difficult to cover full time. It takes a lot of courage to go against the cultural norms. Many who display themselves flagrantly and immodestly...bore the ones they want to entice..because there is no mystery nothing hidden, and everyone is displaying themselves. Men don't want to marry a woman that is so immodest, they want a woman that they can trust., and who will be a good example to children.

  • Never ever cover your wonderful hair but continue to cover your undergarments. Skirts should be below the knees always. Only my opinion.

  • The idea of "looking like a woman" in your terms is a cultural construct, though, in many cultures historically men wore skirt type garments, and there's nothing inherently masculine about wearing trousers they're just a piece of cloth. Don't people assume you're a Muslim? Why should WOMEN consider their bodies a burden? No offence, you seem nice enough but so much emphasis on clothes seems to me to be kind of shallow and judgemental. Appearance is not what matters.

  • My sister, as a Natzarim Hebrew, and as a sister who has been covering for 9 years,I applaud you for hearing the voice of the Set-Apart Spirit (Holy Spirit). Take no offense to our sisters who have misunderstood your decision to cover. (con ...)

  • I don't understand something. Why do you keep your hair up? The scrptures state that if a woman have long hair it is a glory to her. So why hide your God given glory from man? Please I am not trying to be contentious I just want to know if you have any scriptural backing for keeping your hair up.

  • I'm muslim, and I really like your take on modesty. I think modesty is natural womenly thing, and it makes a woman truly beautiful.

  • i understand that you are modest but why do you cover most of your hair?

    im just curious

  • 1 Corinthians 11:15 "But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering"..........The covering is her hair not a piece of cloth....read the whole chapter to get the whole picture. Also, "THERE IS NO CONDEMNATION FOR THOSE WHO ARE IN CHRIST JESUS" Romans 8:1.......There is not ONE scripture that states you're going to hell if you don't put a piece of cloth on your head when you pray......Stop adding or subtracting from the Word! peace.

  • FlyMama---so how to you interpret the verse that says..."For if a woman be not covered, let her be shorn". 1 Cor. 11:6. When you read the greek there are two words in this passage for covering...and the one that is talked about is kataculupto..which means cloth covering the head. Also....the no condemnation verse you have cut off...read it in the King James and see what is missing on that verse, which is in Romans..."who walk not according to the flesh" Walking in the flesh will condemn.

  • Excuses will not save you (Rev 14:12). Their is condemnation for those who say they follow the Messiah Yehshua but do not the will of the Heavenly Father and His will is expressed in His law. You can read about head covering in scripture even though it is not a specific Torah law it is written about in the Torah (Num 5:18) and should be followed as an expression of the Heart being humble before the Holy creator of Heaven and Earth. Don't be lead astray by false teachers claiming to be Apostles

  • "As much as possible, I have avoided male medical professionals. "

are you joking?! even the BIBLE tells about a woman that suffered of some gynecological problem , and she touched jesus to heal her....am i wrong? medical doctors are usually men. i feel ashamed to expose such problem to a doctor , but not because of religion....

  • It was a blood problem... not gynecology. gross.

  • i think modest clothing is actually very attractive, ha, maybe that's the wrong choice of word. what i mean is well put together. what a person wears says a lot about them, and i can see what you mean about how you look being a reminder of how you should act in your day to day life. i've always been curious about that scripture. i don't see what could be wrong about it. some people cover their head when they pray, some people get on their knees.

  • Does your faith have convictions regarding modesty and the medical profession, i.e. male gynecologists and doctors treating female patients?

  • As much as possible, I have avoided male medical professionals.

  • im 13 and i think for the most part this sounds right- good standards

I'm wondering why you cant expose ur hair because i know the bible doesnt say anything about that and jesus didnt cover up his hair. it doesnt lead guys to think about wrong things (as far as i know) so do u find it wrong not too or is it a personal standard?

and does no under cloathing include undershirts working as layers at the bottom of ur shirt and sometimes at the top if its too low? please answer or mail me! thanks!

  • Jesus would have covered His hair, being a devout Jewish Rabbi, read 1 Corinthians 11..I think. It says we should cover our hair while we pray or prophesy IN PUBLIC. Hope this helps.

  • Please show me scripture to where it says Jesus covered his hair. Don't be putting things into the mouth of God, please.

  • Seek scripture my friend, not your own opinion.

  • That's not the point. You love God, therefore you OBEY Him. I cover my hair in church while praying publicly. What's sad is that you think because someone is OBEYING God that they are trying to EARN salvation. We all know we can't do that.

  • Wow, you live in fear my friend. Try living in truth. You live for a God you think hates you!! I'm praying for your soul.

  • Who are you talking to? I keep reading the responses below and I'm trying to find where someone said they think God hates them... ?

  • How is obedience fear? I love my husband, if he doesn't want me to get a green tablecloth, I won't since I value his opinion because I love him. I'm not scared he won't love me. I love my mother so (when I was younger) I obeyed her. Not in fear of her wrath, although YHWH's wrath is a very real and scary thing, but because I love her. God is just, holy, righteous. He does have wrath. But He also has tremendous love, mercy, grace. You had to be bought with blood.

  • Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. *John 14:23 He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. *2 Thess 1:8 Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to make war against the rest of her offspring—those who obey God's commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus.*Rev 12:!7 Lots of verses that speak of OBEYING Jesus, KING of KINGS.

  • "The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverted mouth, I hate. " Proverbs 8:13

  • hahaha.wow. what do green tablecloths have to do with following Jesus? Oh hunny, you're not teaching the cross--you're teaching legalism.

In all seriousness, I'm praying for you on your journey to finding the real Jesus.

  • Legalism: dependance on moral law RATHER than on personal religious faith. If you look at my comment 5 days ago, you will see "We all know we can't do that", speaking about EARNING our salvation. Jesus did it. But he also said,"Why do you ask me about what is good?" Jesus replied. "There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, obey the commandments." Mat 19:17 "If you love me, you will obey what I command. John 14:15

  • The law was added so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, Rom 5:20 For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace. Rom 6:14 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! Rom 6:15 I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!"Gal 2:21

  • According to the teachings of Paul to Titus: The Grace of God our Savior has appeared to all men, teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly desires, we should live soberly, and justly, and godly in this world.

So..it is by Grace we are saved, and are being saved...as we are to work out our salvation by GRACE with fear and trembling. Grace is the power over sin..as Jesus said to walk perfectly, GRACE enables and empowers us to conquer sin...in this present world. What good news!

  • You who are trying to be justified by law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. Gal 5:4 I am not justified by law, but I OBEY Jesus. All this is SCRIPTURE taken from the bible. It is truth. Eternal truth. Just read them. It's simple. Through law came sin, where sin came, grace came. Grace from our Heavenly Father, Yhwh. Grace from Yeshua (Jesus) , God's Servant, Our Messiah, and our King. Jesus died because we couldn't be justified through law.

  • She isn't under the law...she is in Grace through Jesus Christ. By your logic...it should be ok to take up a vocation of prostitution since....trying to obey God's words on holiness is just being under the law. Nope...Grace is the enabling power and work of the heart that changes your desires for Godly ones and gives you power to do the holy work. To finish the race..and to work out our salvation like an athlete. If this concept is new to you...sadly you never have heard the true Gospel.

  • I'm sorry, I'm confused; are you replying to me?? What's wrong with trying to be holy? No, there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus. Still, if we love Him we will obey Him. The covering is tradition. You aren't going to hell if you don[t cover. I'm sorry if you misunderstood me.

  • Only God knows who is saved or unsaved...and only He knows who goes to hell or not. There is nothing wrong with trying to be holy...but it is by grace that we can...for it is power to be holy. Covering is a tradition a tradition that was going along even before the New Testament was written.

  • I agree.

  • veiledglory, thank you for posting this! I'm a Christian female who has been looking for ways to dress more modestly. I really like your ideas.

i'll be visiting your blog soon!

  • Covering majority of hair has nothing to do with Christianity. That's cultural. It is said in the Bible that women should cover their head when they pray, not all the time...

  • Then the next question is...how often do you pray? Is it only formal prayer in a worship gathering? Or is it on your own, at home or at work? We who wear a headcovering daily want to be prepared.

  • @VeiledGlory 1 Cor 11 refers to in a worship/gathering setting. So many apply head covering for women only when they are taking on a role men usually perform.

  • @kaledonia1983 Actually the bible says women should cover their heads at all times. It reads if a women would be ashamed to be bald, then they should cover their heads.

  • @kaledonia1983 In the same scripture it talks about her hair being her covering. And cut hair is the same as having no hair at all. So cut hair.. no covering. So instead of a veil.. I don't ever cut my hair.

  • Beautifully worded. I too am a modest woman, we are what you would consider independent fundamental. I Believe the Lord is leading me more to a head covering...being as my hair is my glory. It has gotten really long now and I would love for only my husband to see it alone. I would love for you to do one showing us how you put up your bun...sense so few of us modest women can master that...hands raise...memmememe. Great youtube!

  • As a Christian man, I cannot stand it when Christian women wear light, see-through blouses that shows skin and her brassiere. Yes, women come to church wearing this stuff, thinking they look good.

  • You have every right to feel that way. I, as a Christian woman, can't stand it either. I feel we should respect God in every possible way, from what we say to how we dress. You are right in saying what you say.

  • @6lemans18 TY! 4 sharing. i won't be wearning that to church!

  • @6lemans18 Well, no one really cares about your opinion, so ya know...

  • I'm a Christian and I applaud you Veiledglory for this video. It's good to see women that care about modest. Too often, Christian women dress loose in chruch. I go to a chruch in my college town and the women dress loose. The guys, including the pastor's son, are talking to that loose woman without delay. The modest girls don't get any attention. It's sad.

  • Another great video sister, may God bless you for the good you are doing. I wear long skirts most of the time, but do certain chores in pants. Wearing a long flowing skirt is more modest to me than pants also i am a woman so wearing a skirt feels more appropriate. Peace to all.

  • Why is it necessary to wear a skirt or dress 90% of the time as a woman?

  • I choose to wear dresses or skirts most of the time because they are a mark of femininity in my culture. There are many fashions, like salwar kameez, that are also modest and feminine appearing in that culture.

There are some Christian women who will never wear pants, which I feel is too strict.

  • There are jobs require women were pants before you come in with a skirt and leave with a skirt but never were pant in the church its inappoirate

  • so a women lopk like a lady not a man

  • God doesn't want a person tempting another to accidentally lust after them, especially if they are the same sex. And he doesn't want a person walking around naked to prevent that, or to have to, and clothing then is a good way to allow people to tell what sex you are.

  • Prove that god does'nt ant people with the same sex. Without the bible.

  • Ha ha.. they're comfy if you live in Houston!!!

  • Thanks for the insight.
