lifestyle music = music by which one might define his or her lifestyle. like "this is representative of the 'soundtrack' to my mature, urbane, tasteful lifestyle." gimmicky cover bands, by way of what they're covering, often serve as advertisement of the fan's taste, knowledge, etc. similar gimmick to the scala choir's covering of indie hits. i just find it all a bit corny and pandering. make sense now? thx!
