  • Please make a tutorial for thisss. Ive been spending too long waiting. And it's you preferably who can do this. :D

  • Please please please send me instructions on how to make it!! I want to make one for my Girlfriend and give it to her in our anniversary!!!

  • could you show me how to do it??? could you send me instructions too!!???

  • WAH HA HA! I've finally found a person with instructions on how to make the REAL thing! YOU'RE AWESOME, MAN! Or are you a girl? Never mind. My point is CAN YOU SEND ME INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO MAKE/BUILD THIS?!? YOU WOULD BE MY ULTIMATE HEEERRROOO!!!!!!!!!!

  • Could you send me instructions on how to make this? It would be very much appreciated. I'm only a kid, so a simpler one would do. I don't need one that'll keep the image intact.

  • i made one for my girlfriend, but mine is made out of jade stone, and is much smaller

  • i love it

  • this pendant will get your laid.... - true story

  • Dude!!! You did it!!! How long did it take?

  • I understand the bottom workings of the locket. But I'm curious about the lid. Only one half is secured to the lower layer right? So what keeps the other half of the lid connected? Just magnets? Or are there 2 rotational pins?

  • there are two ways to make it...one uses just magnets to hold the whole thing together, and the other uses one rotational pin...but it's cut in half.

  • its good but if any japanese made this it will be more better in thikness, size, quality and durability.

  • haha it'll only be cheaper

  • HAHAHA

  • @sterisiology

    lol

  • very impressive, but i think in the film they use 2 different ones,

because the shelves are as thick and rotate in the midle when

    they are opened !

witch seems impossible to me, note that the locket is never

    opened in one shot

  • is it still possible to get directions?

  • Hi, would u mind sharing the plans for this? Or sell the plans?

  • DO you think i could get your plans for this? Or somehow inform me on making these? I have a prototype made that works but not as smoothly as this...

  • how the hell didnt u cut the picture?

  • The photo is mounted to a tiny disk which contains a magnet. The disk is mounted on a tiny pin. The photo is in the left lobe when the locket is closed. As the lid is rotated, another magnet pulls the photo into position. The same magnet pulls the centered photo over to the left lobe when it is being closed. Magic!

  • Oh my goodness! really, congratulations! actually, it would be verry cool to know how to make one, but I'm horrible with those stuff. Plus, I'm brazilian, aand ... hmm... well, youre genious ok?

  • What materials did you use for creating the lobes and pins? My own version of the locket did not last very long due to the center pin snapping in half. I am considering metal for v2.

  • I am begging you! Please make a video explaining how you made it in detail! I'm BEGGING YOU!!!! PLEASE! Maybe not a step by step, cos that might be too long for you, but just explain the basic points! PLEASE!!!! (pretty please?)

  • yeah man...share your work....that was just awesome....i wanna make one...

  • @dwx4 where did u get the magnet? i'd like to try and make one...but i don't know where to buy magnet. and...i'm from croatia, so if you know some website or something that would be perfect :) if not, thanks anyway

  • @LoogarooGirl idi na artas tocka hr....imas magneta svih vrsta i dimenzija...

  • good for you, man. way to show everyone. it's awesome!

  • so since it's getting old you dont mind giving the instructions? cause i sure wouldn't mind making one for myself :). How much do you charge? I would like the instructions because i love making things, and to support you i can buy one of yours if you would be gracious enough to show me the instructions

  • okay i was already lost when the heart opened... and then... picture in the center??? O_O amazing

  • This one is huge! Do you make any that are sanded down?

  • There are limits to the pull strengths of the various magnets, which depend on size. The locket is made as small as the magnets allow. There is less than 1/32" of wood covering magnets when final sanding is complete. I've made them much smaller, but the smaller, weaker magnets cause them to be far too tricky to work with. In any case, I'm no further making them. Time to move on to other ventures!

  • how'd you do that???

    please..please... do teach me..

i really wanted to mke one for my spexal someone...

    thank you!

  • nice-well done.

  • but the picture does not get bended or messed up since is right where the intersection is which is basically cut in half?

  • mY gOodnEsS...yOu rEalLy amAziNg!!! hOw diD yOu mAke dAt??? cAn u sEnd mE iNstrUctiOns oN hOw tO mAke sUch trEasUre??? anD alSo wAt mAteriALs diD u uSe tO bUiLd oNe???

  • I spent over 60 hours on drawings and went through about a half dozen prototypes until I figured out the intricacies. I knew there had to be a way to make it work at least in the same principle as in the movie! - Dan

  • How long did that take to perfect?

The mechanics looked so complicated :O

  • hey, i read that u sell the illusionist lockets on ebay. really cool.

  • Can you please send me instructions on how to make one?

I am dying to make it, I love the Illusionist.

I just love the ending too. :D

    but, please tell me how?

  • how did you made it? please send say it

  • Dude, you have got to tell me how to do that! I just saw the movie and I want to make one for my girlfriend.

  • please i need how to make one...its really amzing how u did..nice...PLEASE//this is for my girl// thnk you

  • do you have the design plans ?

will you share them with us ?

  • Do you have Design Plans you are willing to share?

  • wow great job! are u able to send me the instructions? please! =o]

  • your a genius!!!! omg how did you do that

  • As you slide both of the heart slides together, it pushes the photo into one of the circle groves?

Thus allowing you to rotate it to make a saussage? :P

And when twisted back into the heart, the photo remains in one of the two groves untill you slide it apart...? lol

  • thats exactly what i was thinking...pretty brainy idea though, applauded

  • how did u make this

  • Yours is the movie by far that I have seen. And I was also wondering if you can send me the instructions on how to make it. Thank you :)

  • yours is the best one ive seen.

  • Hey! can u send me directions on how 2 make one please? thank you!~!!!

  • did you ever get directions?

  • Yeah. I'm gonna try to make one... :D It's gonna be hard tho!

  • Would you mind sending the directions to me? I've taken up woodworking, and would love to make one for my wife.

  • theharley : the picture moves over when he opens it

  • Would you ever share your secret on how to make one with the picture intact?

  • i want one

  • Wow. That is fantastic. How many hours (days?) does it take to make one of these?

  • Thanks. I make them in lots of 4 or 5 over a couple of weeks. It's probably about 30 hours per locket with the final finish. I can hardly get one per week out on eBay and it's starting to get old!

  • awesome job. i like it.

  • The newest locket is now posted on eBay (8/11/09) under "Illusionist Solid-Photo Locket."

  • Nice!! I built some illusionist locket too. Kisses!

  • Thanks to world-renown artisan "Sambora500" for starting this obsession with the first and finest locket, the collaboration, reference sites, and encouragement! Check "nasafan" page also -- he makes a very nice, thinner version. - dwx4

  • Absolutely Fabulous!!!

Well Done! All the hard work pays off!

Takes a long time doesn't it.

    Glad I could help!

    Keep up the good work,

    Sambora500

  • thats awesome
