  • y arent their any more commercials lik this???

  • LOVE it!!

  • Great ad!!!

  • This is one of my favorite ads---ever!!!!!!

  • Margie! (the tap dancing star) - we miss you! Kay A.

  • When I grow up --I won't have kaiser, thats for damn sure !

  • getting old sucks hard man lol!!!!

  • God bless the old women

  • love it

  • I absolutely LOVE this commercial but they took it off our local TV. I think people were jealous of Kaiser Permanente and they favor health care insurers who would rather waste their money telling youthful and healthy people how to "look" youthful rather than how to stay vibrant and active at an older age. God bless old people. Put the youth to work rather than hiring them to sit around and complain about the older workers.

  • I love this tune!! I would like to have it as my ringtone. Is there anyway I can get it as a ringtone?

  • what song is that, or just one made up for the commercial?

  • @Cindalu17

The song is by Michelle Shocked off her album, Short, Sharp, Shocked from around 1980

  • @mikec51 Thank you for telling me this was Michelle. I loved it a long time ago, and I still do!

  • It's My Birthday and this is a great song 4 me, Love it..Lots Of Fun !!

  • Thank you.

  • LMAO this video makes me laugh everytime i see it

  • Great vid & song, but I'm wary of profit-driven 'healthcare'.

@coolcats, I find cider-vinegar & honey in water daily help with the symptoms of arthritis.

  • Love it! See it's not all about the number, it's about your fame of mind! Such a cool song!

  • man that solo is gnarly

  • does this give anyone else wood

  • this rules

  • my grandma has arthrtis what can she do to help with this condition>?

  • Honestly. Sexy. Love it.

  • When I grow up, I want to be an old woman too.

  • There was a time I dreaded being called old! This little diddy has made me realize that old does not have to mean one foot in the grave. I love this video. Mom and I sing all the time. We are both grown up old women. And proud of it.

  • I LOVE this!! This is my inspiration for living!!!!!!!!!!

  • well composed

  • Love this! So cute!! Lol.

  • I'm a 55 year young woman that bought for myself - MY OWN ATV! The first year that I had it I put 2000 miles on it. I was on it every weekend and in every month. NEVER GROW OLD! I refuse to grow old!

  • We do not stop playing because we grow old. We grow old because we stop playing.

  • Brilliant marketing. This is one of the best ad campaigns out right now. Kudos to the agency.

  • Brilliant marketing, one of the best ad campaigns out there right now.

  • is not the meaning of this wee bit of a song really that "when I grow up" at age 65 or more I will be "an old woman" but BEFORE THAT I shall always be free and happy like a child?

  • I am celebrating life and thriving as a breast cancer survivor: I'm loving it at 62 and this is

    my new adopted theme song!

I theme song used to be: "These boots are made of walking!" NOW it is "When I grow up, I want to be an old woman!"

My grand daughter Elijahnah asked, "Why would anyone want to grow up to be an old woman?"

I explained it this way, "The alternative is to die young. I want to live a loooonnngg time, hence, "When I grow up....an old, old, old, old woman!" I'm loving it!

  • @famadvocate YEAH!!!!!!!!

  • love this comercial

  • i lvoe this commercial the song just makes me feell better

  • Not exactly a hard goal to accomplish

  • people die.

  • damn straight

  • nostayer -- the trick (and blessing) is to feel confident early on in life that one can be happy and joyful as an old woman. too many women are scared sh*tless of the idea. the song has great healing powers.

  • damn straight

  • Michelle Shocked

  • Michelle Shocked. Great song. Lyrics are hilarious. Here's some more:

Then I think I'm gonna find myself an old man

Then I think I'm gonna marry myself that old man

An old, an old, an old, an old, a really old man

We're gonna have a hundred and twenty babies

A hundred and five, ten, fifteen, twenty babies

Uh huh, that's what I said a hundred and twenty babies

  • Michelle Shocked. Great song. Lyrics are hilarious. Here's some more:

  • What is this song called? and who is the artist?

  • who sings this song..anyone know?

  • Michelle Shocked - When I Grow Up. :)

  • I believe it is Michelle Shocked. Title of song is "When I grow up"

  • At first I thought this was a Patti Smith song. Thanks!

  • One of the best commericials ever....I'm 56 years young...and got plenty more to go......Get those mammograms ladies....

  • go die.

  • I really like this commercial. It is the best that KP has produced. Makes me feel good and smile whenever I see it.

  • @catladyraymond me too

  • I am thrilled that so many others felt like I do, not afraid to get old. We live longer now and we need to be happy.

  • This makes my day every time.

  • 7 years of mammograms and ultra sounds never showed my lump that grew and turned out to be 8+ cm ~ size of a tennis ball ~ it was CANCER! So get your mammograms but do your self check during a TV commercial. Remember ~ when you find a lump, the ONLY way they know 100% is to remove the lump and get a pathology report. I found a lump, they told me it was nothing ~ WRONGO! As for this commercial ~ having a FUN positive attitude as a young woman, you grow up to have FUN as an old woman ~ it's ME

  • That is exactly what I want to do when I grow up . Annalisa , Marzia and I ,get old , hung up togheter , and laugh it up !

    Elena

  • My fav lady is the one with the pom poms. I would love to see her vid all by herself!

  • God bless our "experienced" populations ! We will ALL be there one day ! I love this commercial :) The new Kaiser Thrive commericals are so cute and so diverse !!

  • This is my all time favorite commercial. I'm 71 and I've never been cranky in a pharmacy or any other place. I am happier now than ever, and I feel grateful every day for my good fortune. My peers and I relate to the joy the women in this commercial feel.

  • dancidandelion, why would anyone but especially an old woman be happy at a pharmacy. You get to stand in line, wait an hour, come back and stand in line on your bunions and then pay an exorbitant amount of money for your prescriptions, which may or may not be covered, all why worrying about whatever is wrong with you and how you'll pay for it.. Remember whether you like it or not you are going to grow up to be an old woman. Try graciousness if you can muster it.

  • precisely. old women are not dancing around with smiles on their faces. they're waiting in line at the pharmacy only to bitch at someone like me...and waiting in a line is not an excuse for rudeness. from my perception, senior citizens just seem to have this attitude that they've been on this earth longer than anyone else therefor everything is owed to them.. I'm sorry if my agism offends anyone, but this video is not beautiful. truth is beautiful, and this commerical is perpetuating a lie.

  • Dancindandelion...There truly ARE some of those happy old women around but one thing is for sure, you will never be one of them.

  • You're the threat. Every one of these reply's is positive, uplifting and happy, until we get to yours. You'll very likely be one of those cranky "old" people waiting to bitch at the person behind the counter. The one that has an attitude of entitlement just because you're "OLD". Change the attitude, and the people you meet will not be so bitchy to you. What you send out, comes back. God bless ya!

  • Comment removed

  • I am an old woman

  • Sounds like you. LOL

  • oh yah? i hate this commercial. i work in a pharmacy and i deal with those old women and they aren;t happy...90% of the time they're complainitive assholes. this is a lie

  • I work in a health care environment where most clients are older women, and 95% of them are fun and delightful!

  • Comment removed

  • Is that pom pom mom?

  • i lovee this commercial :) and the message it sends across

  • I love this video! That's how I want to feel when I get older...Not long from now...

  • I will never get a mamogram ever BUT I love this commercial. So cute !

  • I'm jealous, I'm a dirty old man and we don't have such an awesome theme song. I love this Ad.

  • i love the two women dancing in the 1920s shimmy dresses.

    this is an awesome commercial.

    yay for sisterhood :)

  • i love this song

  • Couldn't have said it better myself! Cheerleading Granny is my fav!

  • LOVE this ad. Puts it all in perspective.

  • this is hilarious

  • ???????

  • this old people in commercial already died before 2012

  • This video is total gift! My grandmother is the woman laughing at 53 seconds into the video. She passed from this world about 4 years ago. How wonderful to see her smiling face again! LOVE YOU GRAMS!

  • How fantastic, she is so beautiful, I love her energy, she is one of my favorites in this commercial. You were lucky to have such a beautiful, adorable grandmother in your life, and so nice to see her again this way.

  • How beautiful. I love this ad. I just put it on my facebook page, and my friends love it. It is my dream to be an old woman. You're grams makes me and elder my mother smile at least once a week. Blessings, B

  • She's absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! I wish I had a video of my Grama laughing......Enjoy it! We do.

  • I am a man and this IS my favorite commercial - whata great song, a greater notion.... and I too wondered who that woman was dancing in front of th emirror - what grace and style. Anyone know who sings this????

  • who sings this song again? anyone know?

  • The song is by Michelle Shocked. I saw her in concert tonight (she rocked). She mentioned this commercial but said she doesn't have any health insurance.

  • This is my favorite commercial of all times. I love it!!!!

  • This video makes me realize I want to feel good about aging and take care of myself and keep a positive outlook like these ladies. Awesome!

  • Who is the woman dancing in front of the mirror?

  • I LOVE THIS COMMERCIAL AND THIS SONG!!! I feel this very much to heart, even though I'm actually quite young. I look forward to getting old! ^_^

  • I am an Old Woman, and all I can say is: YOU GO, GIRLS!

  • I love this commercial! When I grow up I'm going to be an old woman and I want to have fun like this!

  • This just makes me smile and happy to be a woman! I want to be a cheerleader for the Rams!

  • Those old women are gangsters did you check that "64" Impala at 00:42

  • she was the PomPom Mom for the Rams football team when they were in LA....she was Awesome!!

  • Im sorry but the old cheerleader looks like newman from seinfeld.

  • so what if she does? does it make the ad any less effective? you are not even the target audience, the commercial being about breast exams.

  • I am very aware that I am in no way the demographic. I watch too much Seinfeld. haha

  • What an optimistic comercial!

Just seeing it makes me worry less about my parents and their age. Sometimes i'm afraid of losing them soon. =P

  • This video is so neat and song is fabulous; those ladies look like they enjoyed doing that commercial!

  • I agree. Last I checked, there are close to 55million Boomers and GenXers out there. Many have substantially more discretionary income than the average twenty year old and most importantly the brains to invest/spend it on the things that may help move a Family and America forward.

Three feet of ice is not a result from one day of freezing weather.

  • At age 68 I am an "old woman" though age is a state of mind. This video captures all of my friends - we are wild, crazy, love life and intend to defy old age! Keeps us young. Kaiser Perm. has the best commercials ever. I love the truth in this commercial; old ladies are a very important part of today's society. And, most of us are living life to it's fullest and have disposable income!

  • I'm about to turn 59 & so, YES, I guess I am an old woman (or almost). This song and the KP ad REALLY make me feel good about it all even though every body part CREAKS! THANK YOU for portraying a more balanced view of the simple joys of life.

  • I love all of the KP commercials. They essentially say that life is joyful and good health is the basis of that joy. Go KP!

  • I love this song

  • I AM an old woman and I love this commercial. It makes me happy, it makes me want to dance and sing and play pool and swim and enjoy life. It's the most positive view of old age I've ever seen on TV. Michelle Shocked's song is perfect. I dance every time I watch it.

  • I can't wait to be a old woman!!!

  • cute loves it

  • The Video was super cool.. using those ladies like that gives me hope for my female friends. If they can be that cool, I'm there. Kudos to Kaiser for using a Michelle Shocked song. She needs to return.

  • who sings this song it's hella tight

  • This song is by Michelle Shocked off her album "Short, Sharp, Shocked from the 1980's

  • I concur, Kaiser Permanente deserves Congratulations for taking on the established youth obsessed media. Every other commerical targets this group of consumers of anyone over 40 as still emboding the 'youthful' generation where everyone is fit and fantastic. Forget it, there is nothing wrong with getting older .. and thus appreciating all aspects of this deeper culture. I look forward to it. Beautifully crafted production! Thank you.

  • Fantastic video! Beautifully done...hats off to Kaiser Permanente. So refreshing to see a major corporation not relying on a vapid 19-year, disingenuously promoting their product. This makes me like them very much...KUDOS!

  • You are correct// most people would not know this song. I had this album. Michelle was here in SF a few weeks ago.
