  • I love this game. The NES version is amazing and has the best music, but the PC version is easier to play since you can just point and click. (I can beat it in like 5 - 10 minutes on the PC).

  • i cant figure out how to get inside :P

  • i got this off ebay and was delivered yday morning, its great i had it for amiga orginally. it looks absolutly awful on a 40'' lcd tv tho :(

  • How could you review this game WITHOUT starting the review with the game's ROCKIN INTRO???

    Missed opportunity.

  • I remember this game when I was in grade school. The "older" kids always used to play this.

  • @17R3W

My big brother used to always play this game when he wasn't touching me in the basement bathroom.

  • @Broyale26

It's nice he gave you a break.

  • I have never known that they made this classic gem for NES.

  • "Just you wait until I talk to your mother!"

  • Day of the tentacle next?

  • @BanColPan Yes please

  • Woot! Maniac Mansion! One of my all time favorite games on the NES! I also have this classic for Commodore 64, PC, and Amiga! I also have Day of the Tentacle on CD which I play it on my old school 486. Screw Dosbox, no emulation for me, I play my classic games on actual old school hardware! :D

  • Just stocked up the wax fruit. Those tentacles won't get me!!!!

  • DAY OF THE TENTACLE is my favorite game EVAR

  • This game was great back in the day. Quite a scary game when you're a young child, and a very fun one when you're an older child. I never did beat it I don't think, although I got really far at a young age. Maybe I should soon. Deja Vu and Shadowgate are some other great p'n'c adventure games.

  • It's Heavy Rain on the NES!!!

  • @quicksaund im glad that heavy rain has made point and click popular but i hate everyone comparing every video game that's point and click style with heavy rain

  • @quicksaund

It's a far better game than Heavy Rain.

  • MICROWAVE THE HAMSTER!

  • 1:36 It says 3 gays ?

  • just pleez stop it w\ the yell-speak

  • Alien tentacles prefer anime girls. Duh~

  • "...Sometimes its tedious, and other times its like 'How the F*ck was i supposed to figure that out?!"

    Golden Rule OF Adventure Games

  • Wow, so many memories of playing this as a kid... and, uh, not really understanding what to do, lol! But as an older man-child, I should go back and give this a shot! Thx CGRU!

  • OH MY GOD, this is one of my favorite games (along with the sequel, Day of the Tentacle). I remember trying to put the hamster in the microwave as a joke, and being stunned when it actually worked. The great thing is that the sequel made an inside joke about it when you try to do the same thing. Lavern, one of the character, warns you that kids who do that get taken away. This review perfectly sums up the experience, minus the lack of a mention of the hamster.

  • This is my all time favourite game, I first played it on the Commodore 64 when I was really young. It was my first video gaming experience! Thank you for reviewing this!

  • Wow I don't know how you can play this game for more than 5 minutes.

  • @Luigi84289 The music alone makes it worth it.

  • cool

  • this is more a shift or slide 'n click than a point and click :D

  • great nobody said numbers because they are awesome great job

  • Coincidently, I was just talking to someone about this game this afternoon. Derek, you showed amazing restraint by not demonstrating the infamous hamster-in-a-microwave.

  • @GonchyT lol it isnt in the NES version i though but he doesnt have much in icky stuff

  • @Docthewrench Actually the exploding hamster was somehow left in the NES version. So since the NES version is supposed to be censored, I'm wondering what was cut from the original game that's worse than a microwaved hamster.

  • @GonchyT it was mostly text that got cut, such as edna saying "silly me, I should have tied you to my bed" when she put you in the dungeon. And the classic: "the meteor is going to be pissed". :)

  • looks like an interesting but long game...long as in it will get tedious quickly.

  • classic point and clickity action. thats 2 point and click games in a row from derek
